Cat among the Thursdays

FRESH HELL OF HELL, I'm interviewing for a sales person today.

LITERALLY my LEAST favourite of ANY job to interview for. It'll be a combination of wide boys and oddly shy wallflowers, BELIEVE ME.

Burnt the roof of my mouth SOMEHOW and it hurts to swallow :(

Hello. In oddly light mood for a Thursday. Must be the impending arrival of a Morton Feldman box set.

Moopy I saw wombats yesterday, and I fell in love 🥹

My mate used to go out with a proper SALES person, the full stereotype. He was such a cunt. I think we ended up fighting three or four times.

Weirdly, he was always trying to recruit me as well 🤷‍♀️

In fact that was the cause of one of our bust ups.

A guy I knew from uni went into sales. He was already hard to stomach back then, but when I ran into him years later he had gone full psycho.

Called at 9.40 to cover at a reception class for a non-verbal kid with specific needs. Having never done it before, solidarity with anyone who does that full-time, you can't let up for a second.

I have a friend who does this for a living at a specialist school for such children. He adores it but finds it so tough. They have a scheme where children are rewarded with building up time doing what they like if they do well. My favourite is kid who he them has to accompany going up and down in the lift at the railway station next door for an hour :D :disco:

Also one of the other 5 year olds when I came into the class - "are you Mr Bean?" :D /:(/:disco:

A friend's kid calls me Mr Bean, but I think more cause he misheard his Dad say "Hello Mr Peach" when he saw me, but I'll take it.

Anyway, YES to the above sales person comments- YOU ALL KNOW THE SORT...

...but I quite liked this one. I mean, he IS the sort, but, it kinda works.

I've been making good progress having been bogged down by the highly glamorous monkeypox. My scabs are all off with no scars, and I feel much less run down today. The only truly lingering symptoms are my voice being high and breathless and other inflammation issues. So I'm really hoping to get back to the gym tonight to test the waters for going back to my sporting activities from Saturday onward. I never would have thought I'd have had an entire month long stretch of being couch-bound with absolutely zero exercise. Thank god I'm absolutely fine watching movies 24/7 otherwise I may have lost it. A 2nd lock down if you will.

I once went for a sales interview when I needed some cash at university.

Him: okay we’re going to do a role play. I want you to phone me and try to sell me this pen.
Me: [ring ring] Hiya
Him: hello
Me: do you want to buy a pen

Him: right, so that’s not quite what I meant. Err, maybe we won’t do it on the phone. Let’s do it here. So, pretend that you are selling the blinds on that window to me.
Me: ok
Him: …
Me: hello Sir, do you have any windows

Him: okay thank you so much for coming, we’re going to leave it there

He felt threatened. He knew you'd have his job within the year.
