Celebrity Race Across The World

Every series needs a “checkpoint Jen” and Roman is providing that!

I watched this last night after being out last week and then forgetting all about it for a few days. I struggled to be excited by it :(

Roman Kemp is apparently quite the penny pincher. On the other hand I don't think I've seen a couple on this eat like Tyler and Molly.

And Dylan Llewellyn is apparently not a homosexual.

Romans face as he mentally thought through the many many scenarios of what happens if they get a taxi was quite something :D

Tyler and Molly were giving Kola and Mary Ellen who just seemed to spend Series 2 clubbing.

I did wonder if Dylan has been friend zoned so much becasue he gives gay best friends vibes.

Noted that Dylan was conspicuously not telling the girl he liked about the show where he plays a gay.

Still watching this series (just catching up with it now), but it's not hitting the spot like it used to.

It is making me want to across central america though

I'm still enjoying it even if it does feel very familiar.

Tyler plunging the loo after Molly blocked it 'by putting paper down it' :D

Did Molly and Tyler fuck up or lose their camera crew last week? Didn’t even see them signing the book.

Everyone's SHOCK HORROR at the cost of the boat ride... and then Anita sitting on the boat with a smile slowly fading as she realised it had broken down :D

Not circumstances getting in the way of the race again.

I did think they all seem to have quite large budgets that meant they could Taxi Dad the final.

Real shame about more POLITICAL UNREST :(

I'm a week behind but what was the deal with Nicaragua?

I mean Jackie and Dylan are lovely, and it was very moving to hear her story and I’m glad they enjoyed the waterfall…but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such incompetence in this show as when they arrived at the island off the coast of Panama and Dylan asked “is this Colombia…?” That and the fact that they’re haemorrhaging their money!

When all you’ve had working for you the last 4 weeks is getting on a bus and it takes you to another location and it’s been right so far why assume the boat would be any different? 🤷‍♂️

Dylan and his Mum?

I’d have liked to see them at least have a go by hook or by crook.

Yeah exactly that, just giving up at the last hurdle seemed really out of spirit of the whole thing.

I did wonder if the production team just told them to not bother? But that doesn't seem likely.

We were talking so much in our house that we missed Dylan and Jackie's exit and were still waiting for them on the sandy rock! So they just gave up rather than ran out of cash?

Honestly, I'm still a bit mad about it haha.

Like, you're ONE LEG away from completing it, even coming last would be such a triumph over adversity and give you such pride. Even giving it a go and getting within a bus ride away I would feel proud, but just flopping out at the last stage? Ergh.

Thats how it came across yeah, they had 10% of the budget left but just didn't bother trying.

Don't think they were ever really in the game and probably took one look at their budget and decided they cba fighting it - but personally I'd be annoyed at not even attempting it and probably think about it daily for the rest of my life. But really I don't think the legs have actually been that long in celeb version? Ravi's halfway point in the final leg was described as a 200km bus journey (so from Glasgow to Penrith) and maybe another 200km to the final checkpoint. Doable with some hitchhiking.

I would feel pissed off at Dylan amd Jackie, but then I remember sobbing in a tent at a campsite just outside Paris on the second day of interrailing, and desperately wanting to go home.

That whole last episode annoyed me, although not so much over Dylan and Jackie, who clearly didn’t have enough money to get to the end based on the bus prices the others were paying. Why did Tyler and Molly spend a full day partying in Cartagena? Why did Roman and Harleymoon go to some tiny, poorly connected beach village when Anita and Bal showed that you could get to the final town from the city they were in before in well under a day? It all felt very manufactured.
