Chappell Moan (née Roan) (1 Viewer)

She shouldn't have even said anything. She has an annoying habit of over-explaining herself when she really doesn't have to.
she kinda did have to in this case since everyone and their cat and the mayor of Rio is calling her EVIL!

The trauma of this is going to sway her onto intermittent fasting; I can feel it.

Her little smirk when she says this makes her feel sad! Oh, she commanded the security guard to do it, and she'd do it again, if not for the fact she's just got him fired :disco: evil queen!

It's the way she couldn't even be arsed to SIT UP for that half-arsed non-apology.

why SHOULD SHE! and yes it is a non-apology. it's literally not an apology because again she's explaining that she has nothing to apologise for. there's a lot of misogyny around her even on spaces like this that I find so weird.

If the security are OVER-REACTING like that it’s probably because they’re terrified of HER WRATH!

I do think Chappell in some respects exemplifies the worst of gen z individualist 'I don't owe anyone anything' culture, and I do think there is a clear dividing line between bashing the paparazzi versus your own fans (although i've no doubt she deals with all manner of boundary-pushing weirdos).

However - it is hard to feel too much sympathy for a child whose dad is Jude Law and whose stepdad is a recent Premier League footballer... :D. Also surely as people who are in the public eye - they are also in the position where they don't always want people bothering them whilst sitting at a hotel breakfast, or indeed in other public spaces? I suspect a lot of their feelings about it come from the fact that as celebrities (or at least people with links to celebrities) they felt a bit of a sense of entitlement and object to the little girl kind of being treated like any other fan.

As a queer football fan I did derive a lot of enjoyment from the unexpected crossover though - like why on earth is Chappell sharing headlines with former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder JORGINHO?

Is C.Moan particularly recognisable in "ordinary" attire, given she is typically very dragged up for public appearances?

Because otherwise I am imagining that she must have attended the danish pastry buffet in a full POUF WIG and GEORGIAN BALL GOWN with a giant RUFF, and then still harrumphed about people looking at her. And I would love her even more for that.

To provide a serious answer that probably isn't being demanded - I think if I was a Chappell stan who knew she was in town and saw any girl with her trademark shock of red hair then my heart might skip a beat momentarily thinking "omg its her!"

I saw pap footage on Twitter of her walking with her security in an airport and she had a hood up, I think partly because her hair is her most distinctive feature.

I'll not lie - I am also very conscious of this element... both more broadly and in terms of how people are reacting here. More broadly - its childless, queer woman versus innocent little girl and her mother (who is also devoted wife to well-respected famous man). In here - well... I don't know... I understand that we're having a LAUGH and all of that but I am also a bit uncomfortable with people straight up calling her a bitch. You are all still men, lads.

It's not misogyny to think that someone (even a woman) who isn't very nice to a child is perhaps themselves not very nice. Leaping straight to shouting misogyny feels like a reductive crutch.

Can't we all just align that whilst Chappell has probably behaved a teensy bit evil, it's the kind of evil that we APPLAUD in the face of celebrity parent entitlement?

Maybe the "musclebound heavy" went rogue? This story has more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel, we need someone to get to the bottom of this!

there is a huge amount of misogyny in the discourse around Chappell Roan generally. it's not "leaping straight to shouting misogyny" to point this out.

do you really think everyone tearing her down online is doing so because they're warriors for CHILDREN'S RIGHTS (the right to meet a celebrity)? or might it be because they're looking for an opportunity to confirm some bias that exists because a young famous woman been vocal about protecting herself?

incidentally, a new TikTok with 730k likes has done an expose on whether she's actually working class... this account was created less than a week ago. all 5 of their posts are dragging Chappell Roan.

this is typical of how things work on the internet now. when one scandal dies out, another is planted by a PR agency to keep the discourse negative. and then people scroll and see another thing involving Chappell and think "ugh, she's everywhere, fuck off". it's a tough time to be in the spotlight as a woman. i don't like to be dismissive of what these people are going through. it's a good job she seems mentally strong.

does moopy now take an unnamed source speaking to the DAILY MAIL as reliable? when did that start?

nothing else on the internet confirms this. Pop Base is known for shitposting. be critical!

keep on posting the daily mail exclusives then! you're doing great work

I don't think that all the online discourse is rooted in misogyny, but I'm quite certain that it amplifies the discourse that is. And that leaves me very uncomfortable.
