That reminds me, I saw a chocolate haggis in Tesco. I'm assuming it's a dessert rather than some flight of fancy but I cannot bring myself to find out the hard way.

Now this sounds absolutely amazing and I shall be going on a pilgrimage for one after work.

American scones are denser, sweeter, and often include fruits or nuts, sometimes with a glaze. They can be sweet or savory and are best enjoyed warm
 
I don’t get dried fruit. It’s like fruit but with a terrible texture
 
Every so often I crave a British scone, but then realise all I really wanted was a vehicle for the jam and cream.
 
But they are an especially good vehicle. I mean, what's the alternative while remaining edible? Celery?
 
I think I probably prefer a jam and cream doughnut, tbh. Unless it's with afternoon tea or at a National Trust café, anyway.
 
There's a small bakery across the road from work which does cheddar and rosemary scones that I would consider selling an organ for.

Did you ever have their croissant crisps?

They quite finely slice yesterday's croissants, drizzle them with honey, sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, and bake them. They often don't have them on display, but they are usually on a shelf behind or under the counter. Utterly addictive.

Just phoned my Dad as I haven't heard from him for a week and worry how much time he spends on his own
