Christmas 2022

I’ll be getting any old shit of Amazon the week before as usual.

Using the Moopy link OF COURSE!

For once I'm actually a bit in the know about what I want. Normally I'm like a dad moaning that I don't need any more shit i didn't ask for cluttering up the house. But I actually have ideas this year :disco:

Last Christmas for us in this house 😬 A big one this year, and one last HURRAH! So 18 of us planned and I will be running around daft and will love every last second of it. Our first since COVID and our last Christmas living in Scotland as a constant. Definitely going to make it count.

I’m working Boxing Day this year so can’t even get that pissed on the BIG DAY :(

Who's organising the Moopy Secret Santa? I've got an open bottle of Bailey's I could do with offloading

I've done most of my Christmas shopping. For the last couple of weekends I've been thinking about starting wrapping it, but can't quite be arsed.

This has been my pattern for the last few years to be honest. Get the presents early, feel smug thinking I'm sorted, then leave it until a week before and realise that the wrapping is going to need a day off work.

Not got a single thing yet, but can not wait to start shopping. :santa:

Barely crossed my mind, despite the shops doing their best to convince me otherwise.

I’ve made two Christmas cakes, pickled my allotment onions and beetroot and my sprouts should be ready by mid December.

BRING CHRISTMAS ON :disco:

The Leeds Christmas Market has been scrapped due to local council budget cuts. Any other cities had that?

I can only assume we rolled the dice bidding for Eurovision and BLEW IT ALL :( :disco:

FINGERS CROSSED

Apparently Glasgow aren't having Christmas markets this year either, and we didn't even get Eurovision :(

Shit, we ARE getting one again

I suppose if you only spend £70 on your Eurovision bid, you can have wooden huts selling shit candles, pottery and mulled wine in plastic cups aplenty.

It is more the atmosphere at a Christmas market than what they sell for me, although of course I am partial to a few mulled wines whilst there.

Grassington in Yorkshire was my favourite UK Christmas market I have been to. So pretty. I think it helped that it was snowing when we were there.

The one in Bath is lovely, right in and around the Abbey yard.

Ours is in the main post war shopping thoroughfare, and frankly just stops you getting along or across it.

Same old shit sold at both, though.

Really? I guess it's too much of a pain in the arse for them post-Brexit. Plus, everyone knows Britain is skint because of the energy bills so why haul yourself over when you know a bad year is inevitable?

Me and the kids done York last year, but was absolutely chock-a-block so the experience wasn’t the best although it did make me want to visit again when it’s not quite as busy.
