I know it is at least a week early for this stuff but Little Mix and Mabel both chose yesterday to release their not completely dissimilar sounding Christmas songs:





Not sure either are that thrilling but Mabel might have the edge.

The original song is fair to passable on first listen, but Underneath the Tree works very well and Human has been transformed into something vaguely festive but joyous all the same.

A Christmas keeper I think. The post-chorus wooooing is pure Kylie. Presumably it dates back to Kylie Christmas and, if so, it seems odd that it wasn't included as it is certainly strong enough. All I can think is that there isn't really anything else synthy like this on the album and there was a decision to avoid the usual Kylie electronic pop sound.

I don’t understand why she didn’t keep it on her album, it’s better than anything on it! I suppose the genre thing makes sense. It’s also produced by Steve Anderson, I’m guessing Saara got the song as it was, even the backing vocals sound like Kylie!

I have just listened to this. Saara in full musical theatre mode, a truly horrible sax break and whoever Michael Monroe is doing the worst Stars In Their Eyes MacGowan imaginable.
