Still got a couple of presents for my mother to wrap. And all of Mr L's fiddly little stocking bits.

Visiting my great nieces later. They are of the age now to be really excited, so that will be lovely at least, considering Christmas Day is likely to be just me and Mr L now, which will be I think the first time ever I haven't seen any of my family on the day itself. Although that isn't without considerable appeal.

Minus two hours from an all day fish based assault on my insides.

I mean i could seriously die with hilarity overload the next time someone leaves the office and says "see you next decade"

how do people come up with such awe-inspiring amusement?

Imagine what it was like working in an office at the millennium.

My uncle wants me to help with the sides cos he likes my cooking (:disco:) but I can't be fucked going round to his early tomorrow. I think I might just make the cabbage and carrots at home tonight.

Pre cooking and a microwave are definitely your friends if you're doing a big family meal and don't want to spend all your time in the kitchen tomorrow.

I thought my parents would know better than to bring up politics so soon. “You didn’t vote for CORBYN did you, WHY?”

I held my tongue, as I intend to do all Christmas, however it’s going to be difficult with family members I care LESS FOR, and when I’ve had MORE TO DRINK.

Just went out to give the recycling men a tip. Slipped over on the drive and went arse over tit and scurried straight back in again in shame.

Strangely enough, Mr L's 'oh yes, I meant to scrape that moss off the other day' didn't go down very well.

Went out for a walk, just because I didn't want to slob in all day. Got some gingerbread flavour popcorn. This could go either way.

I'm disappointed not to have thought to say that. Now have to wait another 10 years to make the joke :(

Is anybody making parts of their Xmas dinner in advance?

Yep, braised red cabbage is prepped, its one of those things that tastes better after sitting. I've roasted some chicken and duck bones/wings/GIZZARDS along with some veg and herbs and shit thats now in a stock pot reducing down to make my gravy. Will do my stuffing in a bit too, but to be honest I've been drinking since breakfast so the rest can wait until tomorrow when I'll get pissed for breakfast again but manage to pull of a couple of hours of cullinary wizzardry before I get truly shlosed.

I'm also just emailing clients telling them to leave me the fuck alone for a bit, I've got all Ms Ron's presents to wrap and then I want to go to the pub.

I fell over on the PICTURESQUE BRIDGE over the DUCK POND while carrying a BAG of LOGS to the amusement of VARIOUS ONLOOKERS but I DON'T CARE. Well I do but only because I forgot to bring any SPARE TROUSERS with me.

Couple of hours of Poke Mongo done. There are cute little wooly hat Pikachus, and some new thing with a snotty nose.

I did get the boxes down in the spare room and they're on the spare bed. I think I should maybe put the tree up so it feels Christmassy tomorrow. We're also the only house without lights in the front window and I don't want the neighbours thinking we're heathens.

Currently waiting to see whether my dad's being allowed out of hospital (with his catheter) because we usually go to my mum's on Christmas Eve. She's still at the hospital and if he isn't coming home we'll pop round for an hour after she gets home. If they do let him out we probably won't go because she'll want to get him settled in bed and, much like a toddler, if he hears us downstairs he'll want to come down. So I can't hit the alcohol just yet in case I need to drive but I have a bottle of Advocaat ready for snowballs if it turns out I won't have to.

I bought some Xmas lights but I bought them to provide atmospheric lighting for some photos I'm doing for my next musical project. So they're not up.

Do we have any moopy people working over Christmas?

@Slave possibly, although I'm wondering if he's left us :(
