Classic songs you dislike or are overrated

Never worked out the appeal - dull dull dull.

Yes! This! SHITE! The noise/weirdness/underground 'scene' of the 00s had many adherents who were also weirdly obsessed with Steely Dan and I thought they were a pile of boring, beige, smug shite.

I love Dolly and the Bee Gees and like Kenny Rogers, but I do NOT like Islands In The Stream. I just don’t and don’t know why.
It’s because it takes too long to get to chorus, same with Heartbreaker

I'm not posting it because it's the Lord's day but "The Riverboat Song" by Ocean Colour Scene is the worst record of my lifetime.

Nobody will ever be able to educate me as to why the big alternative acts of the early 00s are so beloved and critically acclaimed. Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, The White Stripes and yes, even The Killers in their early day. Everyone prefers early Kings of Leon too but it’s just all this weird loud punk-indie-garage rock revival with lots of shouting, screechy guitars and terrace chant melodies. Too many big songs to list, I hate almost ALL of it.

God so much of the noughties music was ROUGH for me :(

Sidebar: I say critically acclaimed, I don’t think the Kaisers ever were :D

Never liked it. This is my favoured Celine hit:

Belinda Carlisle is still salty that this was stolen from her:

This one's overrated (and overplayed during ITV's coverage of the World Cup this summer 😅)
