YEP! I'll have it all wrapped and in the place it needs to go by November 30th as well.

So then I can just relax, enjoy the run up to Christmas by having lots of stress- free fun and with a full pay packet to enjoy :)

I'm going down the brown paper route this year, but am not sure what to do with tape/ribbons/bows and all that shit.
 
I have my nephew's birthday on the 30th and this has started to become a block in my mind when really I should be Christmasing it already. Not that I've got his presents yet but he'll be 3, he doesn't care much yet.
 
I was just with some poor kid who thinks hes got a big idea and wants to raise £250k and I didnt have the heart to crush him and tell him its absolutely woeful
 
Also my own kid is being sent off for ‘assessment’ for god knows what and I feel half like a terrible parent and half like he just needs a fucking good hiding for the first time in his life.

It's not what he's done, its how hes behaving. He's in a forest school, so its a lot of mixed learning, emotional intelligence that sort of thing. You'd think that would mean he's a master of his feelings but he keeps getting really upset/angry about things, refusing to do certain activities and lessons etc. We can't figure it out, and neither can his school. Considering they get quite a few kids who are struggling, or have autism etc. its really difficult.

He's really fucking bright, they keep telling us that, so we can't understand the source of frustration. He's happy at home, from a happy family, theres no classic triggers for his difficult behaviour. So it could be dyslexia maybe, or something else. Or he might have just worked out if he acts up on activities he finds boring he gets 'special' treatment and excused. Anyway, the little shits been sent home so I'm going to pummel him.

I used brown paper last year and still have LOADS left as I bought a huge roll on Amazon that will last me YEARS for about a tenner, if I remember.

There are some good cotton ribbons on ebay and Amazon which I bought last year, and I bought a lovely set of ink stamps with "To/From" on which I used last year. Loads of people commented how good they looked and I know that a couple of my friends were persuaded down the same route because of how good they looked- and I'm a REALLY shit wrapper!

Without knowing any of the situation, isn't that a classic sign of acting up because he's bored and perhaps not being stimulated enough?

It happened to me for a bit as RIDICULOUSLY I was pushed up a year at first school for being too bright for the class I was in but as secondary school refused to take me early, I ended up having to do the same year twice. I did absolutely COCK ALL and was just a complete CUNT for most of it :D

Same thing happened to me - they had to push me up because I was bored shitless. My dad went to see them and said I'd read the books they were giving us when I was 3. There was a minor tiff after which I was required to prove this - which I did - and then I was put up.

Poor kid might just be feeling bored and out of it.

This is exactly how I was, but no, he's in a mixed group with kids up to 12, so the lessons cater for all.

Hi Moopy. Making my first daily thread appearance in a few years.

I'm writing a pub quiz for next week and I need a funny 'this or that' round idea. For example, this week the round was 'Race Horse or Drag Queen?' and you had to guess based on the names.

I was thinking 'Geri Halliwell lyric or Bob Dylan lyric?' but the difference in songwriting style is so obvious I fear it'd be too easy. But something like that please.
