I actually got a LOT done at work yesterday, so I'm hoping that energy continues today. However I also went home yesterday to discover I'd somehow left without locking the door, so swings and roundabouts :eyes:
 
I've had my fathers new phone delivered to me, because we don't trust him to not fuck it up in the set up process. Which he'll manage.

It really does all come full circle doesn't it?

I'd love to block him using Facebook. He keeps doing his Google searches as FB posts. He posted "naked women" the other week.

If it's any consolation, it could have been much worse than "naked women".
 
I was a little disappointed with the lack of imagination. It appears at this stage of dementia he's reverting back to being a teenage boy.

The other week we were out and he got absolutely obsessed with the Sex On The Beach and Pornstar Martini cocktails that were on the menu. He couldn't stop looking at the menu and then ordered one of them really loudly. There was a child from my last school at the table behind us. Painful.

I think the world of niche porn tags and years on Moopy have left me in a state where I can only appreciate 'Wincey Willis dominant milf anal spanking' or 'Prue Leith morgue visit turns sexual' as relevant search terms for heterosexual perverts.
 
Does anyone else find people are just so demanding these days? Like at work I was off last week, someone was told I would contact them on my return on Monday, they came back in on Sunday asking for an update. Erm, you were told to wait till Monday. Or with this volunteer work I do, snotty replies from people. Erm hello, I'm VOLUNTEERING my time to provide for you!

Britain is very angry and entitled just now because it's all going to blazes and it's everyone else's fault. It's going to boil over.

I feel like the two years haven't helped, people seem more impatient and increasingly reluctant to respect office/work hours. We expected to "move on" from Covid but still be constantly available like we're stuck in home office or because "what else could we be doing anyways".

Yes I agree. It's a shame though, spoils my day a bit. Think I'll need to toughen up.

My car has been in the shop for a week now and they've pushed the completion date back twice, from originally last Friday, then tomorrow, to now being this Friday. I wouldn't be THAT WORRIED, except I am taking my Mum to Abba Voyage for her Christmas present on Saturday and I can't quite work out what to do. Especially as hiring a car big enough for a wheelchair is well over £100. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!

They keep claiming "shortage of parts" (fuck you Covid and Brexit). But the whole thing wasn't complicated- I don't see why they didn't get the damned parts in before it went in, they assessed it over a month ago.
 
I make Mr Star take the cars to the garage these days, I feel like they see me and try and sell things I don't really need.

At the moment, that's entirely so. It isn't helped by my Mum ringing me at least twice a day, even on the weekend and bank holiday, saying "Any news on your car?" and when I relay the news to her, getting "Oh, it's a right bugger, you need to phone someone up and have a go".

There's literally nothing ANYONE can do about ANYTHING right now. It's just futile to get wound up about it.

This is the same reason I was given with my car which has been in the garage for three weeks now. It also didn't help that the guy I spoke to on the phone after I got my estimate through didn't pass the message on that I was happy for the work to go ahead so that was another week's delay, and they don't order the parts until they are given the go ahead. I should get mine back on Friday too, though I am not counting on it. Wonder if I should ask for a discount for the delay, but I don't want to come across as a Karen.
