Cool like Sunday-day-day

CANCELLED lunch with my old boss (leave me alone!) and going to see a Matinee of In the Mood for Love instead :disco:

I just an artisan bakery to open up next to it and i’m living the pretentious middle class dream

I hold NO TRUCK with chilled red, but Mr Sheena seems to be all over it at the moment, so I will inevitably succumb. Red is very much winter comfort for me. It just doesn’t work cold to my palate.

We’ve got a little wine shop/bar a few doors down, its amazing and also dangerous.

We’ve got one just opened up down the road and it’s a JOY. Wine, cheese and overpriced foreign NIBBLES.

(As an aside, if anyone comes across Fried Egg flavour crisps by some Spanish brand I forget, I thoroughly advise sampling.)

TORRES

Our wanky wine bar also stocks these :D

I had the most amazing red that was on special in a wine bar yesterday and I need to find out what it was and stock it at home.

Try a Valpolicella lightly chilled. That's what won me over.

I've always snubbed it but after a couple of bottles of pink last night it was a logical choice and honestly, I'm converted. It has to be the right red obviously.

It was this, I'm probably going to have another today seeing as its nice out.

It was basically alcoholic liquid jam. Delicious

I really don't get on with jammy reds. Ms Rons Australian aunt brought a bottle of Jam Shed round the other week and I was very disappointed in her.

I find red such a tricky one to choose, being so new to the world of red. It's entrance level I admit, but it's pleasurable to my taste buds. I had a gorgeous merlot at a very nice restaurant last weekend, but I don't recall what it was.

By contrast I hate berry teas.

I'm great with food flavours, but incredibly basic with liquid.

I started liking Jam Shed red and Jammy Red Roo. I think that's what got me into red wine.

I don't like them as much now. I am a fan of the 19 Crimes red tho.

I also cannot stand Shiraz.

:o people chill red wine? How did I not know this was a thing.
Like Ron says, it has to be the right one. It doesn't suit heavy or oaky reds.

And I personally don't chill it as cold as a white - you just want it a few degrees cooler than room temperature, rather than 'cold'.

But really, do whatever you like. I just need to be aware of the fact that unlike the heavier reds which always seem very alcoholic to me, when i drink it chilled, it's a lot easier to drink.

Ron and I have mentioned two above. Or have a look here

Let's create a basic girls red wine club.

We're not basic because it's red. We're basic because we like the not so subtle flavours and interesting labels.

This. And then there are those that add ICE CUBES to it. It’s an illness, I tell you.

I actually saw calimocho on a menu over here the other day, I was impressed

Anyway, I’ve been quaffing pink wine and ket in the sun all day and I’m loving it.

I was drinking vodka, lime and soda last night. I've never been a vodka fan but just wasn't in the mood for gin or wine.

It was very pleasant.

I've just cracked open a bottle of red. Having Monday's off is the greatest thing ever.
