I saw an article this morning calling people you're stuck indoors with your "quaranteam-mates" and now I feel ill.

Oh GOD. Why do people have to turn everything into a bloody advert? People are dying in the thousands but hey, let's have a snappy slogan.

I'm AGOG to be agreeing with NADINE DORRIES but it can't be eased to any GREAT EXTENT until there's a vaccine and fuck knows when THAT's going to be

WELL QUITE

And very much YES in response to @octophone. It’s only because it’s bloody sunny that everyone wants it to end and get their tits out at the Starburger. Completely misguided and idiotic. For God’s sake someone get the Cloudbuster out and command hail, locusts and giant one-eyed flesh-eating frogs. That’ll shut everyone up

Japan "finally" picking up now. how are you doing, @Diddy? you were already working from home, right?

Yeah, just being fucked in the face by online lesson nonsense. 6 in a row tomorrow with 5 minute gaps. Fuck

feeling a bit down every day tbh, I didn’t want to post about it, everyone has worse problems anyway. Just sitting around alone, wasting my time until I get stressed out with the job I hate doing, no idea what’s going to happen from day to day, worried about money

Japan’s not picking up that fast considering how long it’s been here. Only 119 deaths so far, considering it has twice the population Of the UK

some are worse off, true, but we're all under some kind of pressure and your worries are considerable and justified. so do air them here, no one should be so worried about life in solitude! have you talked to your expat colleagues? they must have similar worries?

isn't Abe announcing some sort of state of emergency now? slow turd. I guess he didn't have much to lose anyway

Oh God, let it out! It’s abject, de-energised hell on a daily basis. I can’t focus on anything at all, even though I’m fortunate enough to still have work coming in. Baguette making and batik be fucked. How can anyone seriously get busy with CRAFTS when people are dying in their thousands? I can’t even bring myself to read, with the exception of sizzling content and eurosquabbles in the internet’s hottest gay chat lounge obviously.

This must have been said before but why are so many people under the illusion that there’s some sort of magical immunity in supermarkets, just because we’ve been told that we can shop for essentials? TBH I can’t go to the large ones because they totally stress me out. The assistants weren’t even wearing gloves in my local Tesco Metro so fuck THAT

As long as you don't run out of crème de menthe it will be fine.

Sorry to hear that :(
I'm actually more worried about what's next, totally agree I won't be relaxed until we have a vaccine, god knows when.

I think the isolation is getting to me, I can’t switch my brain into anything else. Not really getting on with the new job, and want to leave but I’m absolutely not in a position to do so.

I quit my full time job of almost 6 years, and decided to try a patchwork of part time and freelance teaching, but Corona has fucked that, and the safe rent-making part time job is the one I like the least. Feel like I fucked up, and my friends seem to be drifting off, which was the main thing I was worried about here. Just feel alone and don’t see any relationship prospects. My savings have been dripping away, just not sure how long I can keep doing this.

plus the fact that there is a global crisis that thank goodness hasn’t directly affected my family’s health.

I only have maybe one expat friend, he’s married now though

I've just been to Boots and half of it is roped off like a fucking crime scene. No cosmetics, perfume or electrical items being sold.

:D even if I’m not sure why. Was SARA SIDLE there?

I suppose I could kill a bit of time rewatching every single episode of CSI (Vegas, NOT the other ones) :disco:

*actually starts sobbing for no apparent reason*

I did read that people were dithering and just wandering around Boots and they got fed up with people coming in for a packet of Lockets but trying 17 perfumes.

@Diddy, things we'll get better, I also feel like shit being alone and constantly worried about my parents, so I totally understand you. But we have no option now. We can always do a videocall if you feel better accidentally rimming someone (on screen).

this seems to be a thing for me now :D I took it as a sign of moving into a more infirm period of my life, fun.

literally anything seems to set me off. Eurovision 2011 rewatch when Elle & Nikki were so happy to win
Ross’s baby being born on Friends
Beautiful pictures of Japan on some unsubtitled Japanese documentary Peace Nippon on Netflix (why are all the descriptions in English if there are no subtitles?!)
Sad-sounding incidental music on Tidying up with Mari Kondo

Oh god same here. For me it's usually some adorable dog-related post on social media, but I had a RIGHT BAWL at that ABBA Lego video the other day.

I thought it was a Coronavirus thing rather than an age thing though. I hope so anyway :wired:

what ABBA Lego video? I’m a sucker for punishment

I just went to find it and OH NO! "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Universal Music Group." CUNTS!!

It was a Lego man navigating the virus outbreak set to "The Day Before You Came"

Have the other things that have set me off lately instead :)

I cry quite easily ANYWAY but the current state of affairs really is setting me off at any moment, and clearly everyone else by the looks of it. Nice or cute things are guaranteed to get me going. In fact I can’t even really watch things depicting life as it was or people not keeping 2m away from each other. I even started blubbing at a picture of people eating in a restaurant

I envy all of you that cry so easily, you feel so much better after a good cry. I just got a bit emotional the first evening people start clapping from the windows, but now I just play a youtube video of clapping sounds and that's it. :)

Oh I noticed that bizarre revelation while I was on supposed sabbatical :D!!!

I can’t cope with the clapping AT ALL. I just hide in bed weeping

I felt a few wet things running down my cheeks listening to "Hobart Paving" the other day. But then, who doesn't every so often?

was it a Wimpy’s?
I wonder if they are still going, somewhere

There is one literally opposite my flat on the seafront. You can see it from the balcony. I can’t say I’ve ever been. Well, to that one- it was a staple of my youth.

I did on my wedding day when Mr Sheena arranged it not as our first dance but as a surprise “first song the band played”.

:o Inspiration for me to visit the Teddington Wimpy when this is all over. It was only about 10 years ago that some of the waitresses in that place finally left after nearly 25 years of working there. I had my 5th birthday there, went every Friday after swimming for years and they still knew our orders into adulthood.

i just remember going to one in London when my sister lived there in the early 90s. The thing that sticks in my mind was them using cutlery

Oh let’s have a LOUNGE CRY-IN

Even the more emotionally crippled posters should be able to fill a bucket to THAT one. Don’t forget, even a single, solitary drop will prove you’re not totally dead inside, just mainly :disco:
