I believe as of yesterday we had the second highest rate per capita in the world, and the vast number of those cases are just in Reykjavik which is just over 200,000, so yeah it´s high. :(

Thing is we only have one international airport, so only one major way in and out, so it´s all very concentrated.

On a more positive note it´s making it A LOT easier for authorities to detect and test for it as nobodies really able to fly under the radar, so that 65 number is probably very accurate, unlike the US, as others have said probably has A LOT more than 700 cases.

I read that San Marino couldn’t even handle their first case, they transfered him to a hospital in Rimini.

Now that all of Italy is in quarantine maybe there will be a big migration into San Marino. :disco:
 
Seriously, does San Marino even have a hospital? It could surely only have one if it does. I'd assume they had to rely on Italy for anything vaguely unusual anyway.

We’re right behind you at number 13. It has sort of exploded here and now I’m worried for my mother who’s recently got cancer.
 
Is she isolating herself? Cause from what I remember chemo brings the immunity down.
 
It does indeed and she recently got pneumonia because of that, but she still needs to visit the hospital for treatments and such, so not really isolated.

Ooh we're in the top ten for deaths though. That's exciting. All those underlying health conditions we've been building up as a nation have really come into their own.
 
authorities are really tightening the screws here now. I'm glad Mr M got home from Italy just in time. he was supposed to go back tomorrow to fetch his stuff but that's obviously cancelled
 
Ken and Ba popped off to Italy for the weekend and then showed ALL their PHOTOS to the BOWLS CLUB for THREE HOURS

what are the japanese doing to contain it, do we know? (apart from possibly being one of the most conscientious and rule-abiding nations)

they were very quick to shut down schools, and Hokkaido declared a state of emergency relatively early on. other than that and extreme cleanliness, no idea
 
eugh I really don't want schools to close but it's about to happen isn't it... :(
 
There are seven cases within my area although they won't publish any more information so folk are in full blown panic mode. Hand sanitisers are now being secured with cable ties in the local hospital due to the number of people stealing them.
