If I was being CYNICAL PERISH THE THOUGHT I'd say those with INTERESTS IN THE PRESERVATION OF THE ECONOMY who BY NO COINCIDENCE AT ALL ARE FUNDING YOU-KNOW-WHO won THAT argument. I wonder who is PAYING the EXPERTS.

If they think that closing the schools might help in the future, why don’t they just do it now? What are they waiting for?
 
I went up in the loft earlier to see how much toilet roll we had before I panic buy tomorrow, I counted 72 rolls.

I have a Coronavirus conference call at work tomorrow and due to them being utterly useless and impractical in our roles with no helpful information being passed, even if you can hear it, we haven't had one for years.

Unless it's "pack up and go home immediately" I'm struggling to see how that will change. So far it's all very vague and floundering which seems to be standard fare across the board.
 
What is the number 1 worst time for getting the lurgy? Is it not when all the snotty nosed kids go back to school and start spreading stuff EVERYWHERE then carrying it home to their parents? So why on earth are we (the country/govt) so dead set against closing them? D:

I think it’s going to be really interesting to watch how Ireland and the UK’s numbers change in the next two weeks...

We have started making all contingencies for the kids to work at home and learning the best online tools to do web teaching seminars.
 
Numbers dont mean shit. As they said today they reckon there's 10k undiagnosed.

Numbers depend of how many people are tested, some countries are hardly testing anyone. There are a lot more than that so it's impossible to know.
 
Schools are closed here next week for March break and they decided to extend the break for two extra weeks.
 
the Swedish government press conference tonight was just inept. of course they've tried to reach consensus with schools instead of just SHUTTING THEM DOWN :DAF:

when i said i'm terrified of this coming here because the healthcare system is poor, the government is imbecilic and people very are susceptible to misinformation... a woman who was being tested ran away from the hospital. we've already had one death and there is speculation about serious misreporting. it's going to be scary. at least the uk has functioning institutions and the nhs.
 
I'm enjoying tonight's Question Time with Professor John Ashton calling out the government's response at every turn.
 
The government has declared a "state of emergency" here until May 1. All public gatherings are banned, all schools, museums and movie theaters closed, performances, concerts, conferences and sporting events are banned.



























Libraries will remain open which means I have to continue working.
