My mum just messaged me advice which was:

*don’t touch anything at school
*try to teach whilst facing the wall instead of directly at the children
*look into how I can get the class to use Skype from home (30 seven year olds on a Skype call)

:D

I just spoke to my mum who is discouraging me from leaving the house. Fuck that. I'm not being locked inside until I have to be. And by that I mean, once it's a legal obligation.

My brother is obsessed with the fact I'm going fall down dead from this. That's what happens when you're quarantined for TWO MONTHS.

My class tutor tomorrow is using something called Zoom for conference type situations.

You can still go out for a walk you know!

That’s good to know. Keeps the dog walker in business, although it would be rather lazy of me to ask her to take the dog out when the 3 of us are at home. Hey, I’m all for keeping local businesses afloat.

@Suomi Having re read your post I see why that may not be as easy. You can set work from afar though surely.

Oh sure - we spent Friday trying to frantically make up home learning packs that they could take home. Video learning just isn’t a possibility as a lot of them don’t have computers at home for it.

People here are starting to lose their minds, and it's only day 2 of a fortnight in quarantine. Lots of artists doing live concerts on instagram, we even have an 8 hours drag festival tonight. That'll make up for Eurovision :disco:

And the ones that do might have parents who need to use them to work from home.

Just got held at a bus stop where some old bint wouldn’t get off the bus until the driver could tell her why he doesn’t know if he stops at a road that “used to be called something where an old hospital was that’s no longer there”, even though there’s an actual information desk at the station right next to the stop.

These are the people I wouldn’t mind going into self isolation. Permanently.

I'm very much fed up with hearing about this. It's unavoidable, which I know is important, but social media and the news are really doing nothing to help curb anxiety. Particularly when it comes to the thousands of people, elderly or otherwise, who are stranded at home lonely and isolated with mental health issues. It all makes me sad, plus I can't help worry that I'm going to make my parents sick. I haven't had any symptoms since coming home but dad it worn out and has a cough.

*deletes all social media*

The PTSDs from this once the world is (hopefully) on the other side of this will be quite something. I know I've been stressing and panicking for a number of reasons these past two weeks.

Looks like I picked the wrong year to quit anti-depressants.

First Bristol death. 59 year old man with heart condition.

At my mother's now and trying to stick to 2m apart. She's still having none of it.

Does the 2m thing actually work though? I mean, if you have it, you’re going to touch something or spit on something it’ll survive on anyway, NO?

Admittedly, my Mum was the same this morning despite repeated moanings...

Yes. It works in the street, but not at home when you're touching the same things.

I doubt it. I just don't know what the right thing to do is.

And considering she has two of the grandchildren up, I may as well pin her down and lick her face, anyway.

I see Scotland have gone up from 121 to 153 but can’t find anything for the UK as a whole.

i don't think numbers from the uk or the usa matter at this point. it's like they've all but given up testing/tracking.
