"That is absolutely what many Americans are missing — that it’s not about you right now. My parents were in the World War II generation and there was more of a sense of we’re all in this together.
We’ve got to realize that we’re all in this together and save each other’s lives. That has not penetrated yet, and it needs to penetrate because we all have to cooperate."

FAT CHANCE with a country that voted for the Orange Fuhrer and thinks socialism is evil :)

The Belgians call hoarding 'hamstering'. Cute.

So do we. We are told not to do it.

I'm feeling ill but not with any symptoms of this. Fucking typical!

Also just stuck neighbours on for the first time in what must be 10 years. Paul Robinson looks the same.

My local shop cost has just provided bread and tins (at a cost!). Fuck the morons. Don't share it on FB either! We don't want them selling out as well!

My dad says if I have got it and become immune, I can go and look after him and his wife when they get it. I suppose I MAY AS WELL be in the middle of nowhere if all socialising is banned.

Tell 'im you can catch a mutated version and get the gin out.

Oh dear. I’ve just been to pick up my daughter who thinks it is the end of the world as her driving test has been cancelled tomorrow.

It’s coming. :(

I really for her. All that effort and build up and she was so close to getting it done.

I was supposed to be in Australia last week at a wedding at it just made me go HUMPH.

Just had an email from Ron Jrs after school club saying they are open full time from Monday as schools are shutting this Friday. 1) Why are they letting us know before the school and 2) Doesn't that defeat the object?!

To be fair though they've said they'll run reduced groups and priority for NHS/front line services staff, which is decent of them.

Meanwhile Ms Ron's company have put themselves forward to help with making ventilators and coffins! Wild times kids. Wild times.

Yes, I know she is absolutely gutted. Burst in to tears when I went to pick her up. I would have dreaded to see what she was like when the instructor told her the news. As you say it is just the build up.

He still charged her for 2 hours of lessons when she wasn’t even in the car for an hour.

Local shops are the way forward- but I'd be quite happy for them to sell out. They're going to need every single bit of help we can give them.

He better give her an extra hour for free when we're back to normal, whenever that is.

Don’t worry Alla I will make sure he does. Unfortunately Shannon isn’t quite as forthcoming as me yet.

new cases today in UK: 676 + 1 Kate
That's a big jump. But again it's still kinda meaningless. They're increasing testing packs from 5000 to 25000 so expect big rises.

I expect the death toll to hit 100 today.

Sheena, did your op go ahead yesterday? Did everything go OK?

Yes, thank you. I should have SAID.

They SCOOPED out the lump off the bottom of my foot and they think it's a PLYOSOMETHING GRANULOMA or something, which is a quite rare, but harmless overgrowth of blood vessels, usually caused by a minor trauma like a scrape or stepping on a thorn or something. The Doctor was worried it was a bit too big, so it's still being biopsied, but he thinks it'll be ok. The lump on my arm he thinks is a bad reaction to an insect bite, but he is sending that off too. No idea when I get results as "things are a bit crazy right now", but feeling rather like a weight has been lifted.

My foot is ridiculous- I have absolutely no pain at all (it hurt at the time, mind!) but my arm has stitches and that's KILLING ME. Went back to the gym this morning fine, though, so it's all good. I'm really looking forward to being able to run again- JUST IN TIME FOR LOCKDOWN :disco:

Still at work with half a team (all self isolating because of their own family members displaying symptoms but none directly) and I've decided to stick a sign on my salad dressing in the fridge to say I've licked it (I haven't). That might stop the French Dressing thieves.

Great news that it is looking like nothing sinister, and everything went OK. I had no idea about a lump on your arm.

I am thinking the exact same. Time to push my fitness to a new level, and try to enjoy what is probably the first time of the past 15 years when I will have the time to focus on me.

I think lockdown will be announced tomorrow, beginning Friday. They are not going to want people going out for dinner/drinks at the weekend. If they announce on a Friday night that the pubs are shutting the day after, surely a lot of people will be tempted to head out whilst they still can?

Makes sense. Good luck!

I’m hearing lockdown for Friday as well, for 15 days.

off to the shops I go :D

It was a small one I wasn't worried about so much but figured I should just get checked anyway as I was there.

The most embarrassing thing is how the lump on my sole was REALLY big and horrible and I've been telling everyone I might not be able to drive etc...turns out it was attached by a stalk, so the scar is the smallest hole you could EVER IMAGINE :D
