a couple of places in asia are starting to experience a new wave of infections and going back to lockdown...

this won't end, until we've all had it, will it?

infections and deaths in turkey seem to be surging after a very slow start in addressing the issue - their first reported infection was on the 11th of march ffs. they're on 1500 now. another garbage dictator.
 
In 2 days I've lost about 70% of my regular income. I'm good for a bit, but lol. :(
 
Fuck knows, I do marketing for businesses, if they go bust, they don't come back as clients.

same. i have a roof and some money put aside, i'll be fine.

we actually had a client ask for a quote for a campaign for sneakers (!) on friday. it was bewildering to me but my colleague actually got all excited and we sent them an offer and yesterday they said "oh we decided to suspend that campaign for now".

you just decided? you just realised no one is gonna want to buy new trainers 10 days into a lockdown?

Ha, one of my clients had a 150% uplift in revenue at the weekend, but because they now have no staff they've shut the site. Fuming.
 
I got let off this week. I get paid until end of June which is some relief, but I work in advertising so ain't no agencies hiring in this period while all their clients' campaigns are suspended. I'm not expecting to find a new job until later in summer at the earliest. :( aside from the money I just hope the boredom doesn't do me in, especially if this situation is extended into summer and we're still couped up inside.

I have been launching a new business over the last 3 months, we're supposed to go live next week, so I'll crack on with that (if Mafia doesn't ruin everything) and hope for the best.
 
We've had letters through the door encouraging us to make contact with our neighbours to exchange information and support and set up a rota for extra cleaning of the communal areas. EWWW NO.

My friend is considering signing up as a Strawberry picker for the summer (Covid + Brexit means they're desperate for labourers).

I don't think he realises what a physically demanding job it is. :D

87 deaths in the UK yesterday and 1427 new cases :( and taking to mum earlier by all accounts parks etc are still packed with people that think they're invincible :manson:

We also had our first death here in Iceland :(

I think it’s very dangerous that workplaces are defining key or critical workers and not the government. Hearing all sorts of complaints.

Yeah NO. It's not about the "strength of our relationship", it's about the size of my flat, the fact I'm working and he's not, and his SNORING.

The UK government have been woolly about everything - by leaving things up to individual interpretation, they absolve themselves of responsibility when it goes wrong. "Oh, we wouldn't have included that person in OUR definition...it's not our fault you couldn't work out on no notice at all how to let x-number of people work from home" etc etc

Speaking to my friend who works as a cleaner at the train station (I move in ritzy circles), he told me they've had families with suitcases coming in all day and catching trains to Skegness. We've had a ridiculous number of people knocking on the door asking if they could come in to speak to someone. IDIOTS.

guys, seriously, i'm so happy for moopy these days. i find my friends in real life really difficult these days.

maybe they just make the whole situation more real but i can't help it.

Just watch. The more capitalist the approach, the higher the body count. We'll start to understand excessive wealth as a pathology after all this. Imagine thinking that it would be better for a couple of hundred thousand people to die than for your assets not to grow by as much for a year. Imagine having $200million and being frightened that it might go down to a mere $198million.
