Working from home continues until the end of the month unless I'm told otherwise and then 1st-15th April on that "support for people who would've been laid off" scheme where we get 80% of our salary in exchange for sitting at home doing fuck all. To be honest, if it wasn't due to a national emergency, I'd be rather happy with that arrangement for however long it takes! Just imagine a permanent living wage for all. Ah we can dream our leftie dreams...

In an attempt to avoid obesity by lockdown, I’ve gone for an evening walk for my daily allowance of outdoor exercise. It’s eerily quiet yet so peaceful.

Day 1 and police are having to dispearse sunbathers in West London. Do these muppets not realise further restrictions will be implemented if this stuff continues.
 
They probably live in a shoe box and are being told to consciously couple up by the government. No wonder they’re taking chances outside :side-eye:

I don’t see what’s so appalling / laughable about the answer to that question on non-cohabiting couples...

It was always the natural consequence of the new rules that couples will either have to stay apart or make the choice to ride it out together - it’s just been explicitly pointed out now.

Twitter is filled of news of young-ish people who got it and are now dead or dying. It’s scaring me.
 
My impression as this presses on is that the deaths are becoming more about shortages than just pre-morbidities. For example, my local hospital used its last ventilator this morning and ran out of TYLENOL (among other medications used to sedate, etc) - there are no resources.

my colleague wrote a silly selection of movies about pandemics and i just got an alert that i's trending.
turned on google ads in celebration.

we've literally had no proper advertising in about two months now. marketing budgets were already slashed in our segment going into 2020 and now they've all but frozen.
 
Spain is STILL going up in massive numbers, even though the have been in lockdown for 10 days. :(

Indeed. It will take 3 weeks for measures to see a drop in numbers and to see if it's working.

Basically, our "3 week lockdown" is going to be a minimum of that- and much more likely that it will continue well beyond that. It's just at 3 weeks they should be able to ascertain if it's working or not.
