This is happening across Europe to be fair. England is further back in the curve but there are scenes like this in Amsterdam, Berlin, anywhere the sun's out.

The pictures just make it look like nothing ever happened. I can see why people want to get to the beach, I totally can, but there is no way anyone is 'staying alert' by doing what they're doing.

I let my hair go wild over the winter and get it sheared for the summer like a sheep, so don't really care, it's just a bit delayed.

Looking at that carefully, they seem quite reasonably spaced out. It's a long shot - focus on the people in the foreground and it does seem as if there's 6 feet between groups. That said, I rather doubt these are single households.
 
4043 new cases today in the UK? I know it is a Tuesday and we are possible catching up etc etc, but that is still a big jump compared to previous weeks? :zombie:

The thing is, the 2m rule really means fuck all in terms of safety if one or more of them is infected and launches into a great big gobby coughing fit. I know the spacing is meant to reassure us all but I’ve never been convinced. Until today I’ve been giving the infamous Zu daggers to anyone who comes too close to me in the street but honestly I’ve given up, especially given that I’d just bought some bagels handled by someone who was wearing neither gloves nor a mask. TBH my body and mind can’t take this enduringly level of high anxiety and neurosis

Obviously, take any "some doctor talking on Youtube" with as big a pinch of salt as anything else, but his references seem good and I wouldn't get too worked up about the pictures of people on beaches. At least, until they go to the loo.

Apparently the figures from the "Level 2" external testing had been missing for a few days and this increase was just adding them in. The number of new cases actually reported yesterday was ~2000.

Not to bang on the drum and yes they are the worst example for sure, but the vast majority of Western thinking is exactly the same. The UK may not articulate it in the same way, but "An Englishman's home is his castle" and all that.
 
So the test and trace programme begins in England tomorrow.

If you get symptoms, you have to request a test.
If you get contacted by NHS, you have to isolate.

(Except you don’t have to, they aren’t making it law for some silly Tory reason).

It seems like the bars and restaurants in my street are reopening! Obviously you can only take away so people are just gathering outside with their pints.

We have a path that meets a LANE at the end of our garden so I can always hear people meeting up for a CHAT, among all the SHIT music the neighbours are playing dusk til dawn. I mean I doubt you had coronavirus back in October, Sarah love, particularly considering you spend all day every day sat on your arse at home when your not taking your kids out for walks and allow them to break social distancing rules when I walk past with my dog. Also the fact that you live in the middle of NOWHERE.
