For me the problem is getting places; there's going to be a massive spike in public transport usage due to people having mega FOMO as parties start popping up that are too far away to walk to.

I just hope nobody in the office comes up with the idea of GARDEN MEETINGS

I DIDN'T EVEN SAY THAT

In Scotland I can have up to 8 people from two households only (including mine) at a time meeting up in my garden?

OMG THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!!

Let's face it, they don't really care about a second peak and in fact they're practically encouraging it at this point.

Well, you might as well kill off everyone who takes everything at face value and thinks critical thinking is someone slagging off their new wet-look bra and sun lounger. Personally I’m all for it. I mean darling, that sort quite obviously won’t have gone to OXFORD. Even an early, unmarked grave and pauper’s funeral in a balsa coffin is too good for THEM!

I truly believe its just herd immunity wrapped up in we really are trying!

What I still don't understand is the big hospitals they all built a few weeks ago which I think 3 of them weren't even used. Was it in case the peak was a lot worse than it was?

Oh that really has proven to be the most disgraceful waste of resources. Total PR stunt. “Look how much we care! (Well, not about those people in care homes but fuck THEM.)”

If it's herd immunity they're trying they're also failing massively at that because they estimate that only 6% of the UK has had it... That's a long way from the 60/70% they need for herd immunity. Imagine this x10 times! Unsustainable.

Me either. Quite alarming they said if they have to make it mandaTORY they will. What if someone didn't have a smartphone? Comes to something when I would rather trust the Google and Apple ones already out there in other countries. Not one that Cummings and co made and the old head of Talk Talk where they had one of the biggest data breaches ever seen under her watch :D

I haven't connected all the dots, but I do think they avoided using them by letting people die in their care homes.

Unless there’s a vaccine or cure it’s the only alternative. I think in 5 years most countries death rates will be largely similar.

It was partly propaganda and partly preparation for the inevitable next wave(s) so the NHS can't say we were under-resourced but who cares about shiny hospital buildings in some stupid dick measuring contest with other countries when A) you don't have enough staff to put in these new 'hospitals' and B) there isn't enough PPE for them!

I suspect I’m not alone in this, but I honestly don’t know what or how to feel about (or respond to) this whole thing any more. I’m completely bewildered and my senses are shot to pieces. Not for the first time I grant you but STILL!

Do we think that we may have a little chance that we won’t get another wave and things may just go back to normal at some point? :(

I feel slight optimism right now, just because the daily cases in my area in London have been utterly minimal recently - however, obviously I’m highly aware this can take literally ONE PERSON to completely fuck over for everybody else.

I’ve been using the KINGS COLLEGE one which isn’t too bad as it’s presumably used by people who KNOW what they’re doing and aren’t allowing their colleagues to nip up to fucking DURHAM. It also estimates 0.9% of my area has had Covid-19 symptoms :disco:

I know we’ve said this for the last 4 weekends or so, but this does really feel like a turning point when it comes to people’s compliance with the rules. Nobody even seems to be pretending to social distance any more, even totally reasonable people who I would have assumed would have been really careful a month ago.

I walked past a Shisha bar yesterday, packed with student types crammed 3 abreast on outdoor couches, sharing pipes.

Nobody gives a fuck any more.

About hit the town park. Will report back but I suspect many less fucks will be given.

The arrival of warm sunny weather has finished lockdown. People clearly feel they've done enough which is hardly surprising given how utterly shit the government have been. Couple that with the UK's general weather based anxiety that this might be all the summer we get this year and boom.

Just been to HOMEBASE and apart from myself there was only one other person wearing a mask, and apart from a queue outside there was next to no social distancing, as people were RUSHING down the isles with their BIG TROLLIES trying to grab fertiliser and what not. We’re going to be back in lockdown by the end of next month at this rate.

Oh wow. You're not allowed to get into any shop here without a mask, and people are doing it. And I thought we were bad...

I hope you were wearing your cool black one :disco:

I'm still feeling very locked down and am doing exactly the same things I've done for the past 10 weeks, bar now driving somewhere for my exercise every now and then.

Just call her MISS LEA. She likes it :tongueout:

I don’t think we HAVE to wear masks here. Or do we? I still don’t have one and don’t know which one to buy anyway...

I hope the government can see where relying on "Great British common sense" gets them.

Oh of COURSE it was, no other for moi! :disco:
