I don’t know if the virus can’t spread AT ALL if you’re asymptomatic or if it’s just less likely to do so. It MAKES SENSE that you’re less likely to spread it if you’re not coughing and projecting your germs everywhere.

Usually the bung all the previously unreported deaths on that day’s official figure but I guess that wouldn’t have been the season finale Boris was hoping for.
 
Last I saw John Campbell was still saying along the lines of asymptomatic people being able to spread it and if anyone does proper journalism it's him (ironically he's not a journalist, go figure), I tend to be wary of headlines. But admittedly I've not watched all of his latest videos as they're rather LONG.

It'd be great if it's true as you can move to distancing the fuck away from anyone who's coughing their lungs up and be a little less worried about groups of bright and healthy people, I just... eh, who knows what's true or false these days
 
What seems to be really overlooked is that if most things are starting to open up again, how exactly are people going to travel to them? I haven't seen any message reiterating "please avoid public transport unless it's essential", so have they given up on that now?

They have the right idea with public transport. Masks mandatory, making it relatively safe. This hugely reduces transmission (I should really take a leaf out of Dr John's book and dig up references but can't be arsed). We need the Asian culture where we alter our thinking to "how can I contribute to a safer community" (just all wear masks in enclosed spaces even if you feel great) rather than the inward thinking "how can I protect myself" (masks don't actually help yourself much, which people know, so in this country they don't wear them unless they have to or don't realise and think it does give them immunity). That is, unless the thinking has changed on asymptomatic transmission in which case "if you're coughing and spluttering then forget the mask because you should FUCK OFF HOME"

The danger with pubs of course being that you can't exactly sup a pint with a mask on.

I get that not everyone in England has a car, but certainly a lot do.
 
I had plans for later in the summer, a weekend in Helsinki at the end of August, a weekend in Budapest at the end of September followed by a trip around a few Balkan countries the week after, but I haven't booked a single thing and I don't really know if I will go anywhere this year. I haven't got a SINGLE plan to meet any friends yet, but then most of my closest friends don't even live in the country. I'd love to see them but the thought of getting on a plane makes me a little anxious.
 
The other thing that seems muddled in the "pubs reopening" logic is that they haven't said anything about who you're allowed to go to the pub with. In theory you have to keep a 1m+ distance from people outside your bubble, and I can't imagine pubs will be laid out with 1m between each seat. Being completely logical this means you can't really go to a pub with anyone outside your bubble, which of course is a nonsense and certainly not how it's being spun.
 
There is no logic to what the government is doing and it is not based on scientific evidence. They have (as predicted) caved to the pressure of the businesses & back-benchers and the public will pay the price for it in the autumn and winter.
 
Yeah there’s no clarity because they don’t care, it’s “do what you like as long as we’re seen to be Doing Something”. The only ones who do care about any kind of rules are the cops who as usual are too busy harassing some harmless group of 3 putting up a tent in the middle of nowhere.
 
WHO HAVE confirmed a large percentage of Covid-19 infections could be transmitted by people who have the virus but no symptoms.

Going to the cinema IN SUMMER is lunacy at the best of times.

Would be great if they put on some open air cinemas over the summer though. Ditto theatre/performance spaces.
 
I guess there will be a back log of films that were due for release. Mulan, for instance?

Well I don’t really plan on going if they’re only going to show old films I’ve seen hundreds of times. Almost all of the ones on the list are films that have been re-released at cinemas several times over the last 10 years anyway.

Last weekend I walked down to the O2 outlet shopping centre just to see what was open. All of the places I like were still closed, with just massive queues of teenagers outside the Nike and Adidas stores.
 
Well I’m sure Odeon will start charging me again for my Limitless card so DAMN RIGHT i’ll be going to the cinema.

There are a few coming between summer and end of year, no?

Mulan (July 24), Tenet (July 31), Wonder Woman 1984 (Oct), Black Widow (Nov 6), No Time To Die (Nov 20), Dune (Dec 18)...

I'd feel more confident about the chances of anything coming out in July than in Winter though. Bond will be delayed again I'm sure.

Theatres and live venues are allowed to open but live performance has specifically been BANNED.

I've seen people suggest venues put on screenings, as if cinemas don't already exist and cater to their own dwindling audience. But I'm sure the general public will be rushing out to their local STALLS BAR for a £12 glass of RED :manson:

How can you be booked? They haven’t announced the definite dates yet for Scotland, have they? my place uses a site called Booksy but it somehow has been taken off line anyway so I can’t book yet.
