Interestingly, I just cycled past a pub where everyone was gathered closely around the outside TV, pint in hand.
 
Don’t think there’s much change- hearing the six months thing was a bit of a moment, but entirely logical really.
 
If I believed any timescale at least it'd be light at the end of the tunnel, but I just don't at this point, I think we'll be like this for years :(

Tried to nip into the little Tesco here for coffee. No chance, it was RAMMED with kids. 6th formers i think, but still - it's worrying to see the lunchtime locust plague descend upon the town again.
 
That happened when I went to Asda in Hulme at lunchtime last week. They were making PA announcements for any schoolchildren who weren't buying anything to leave the store and the kids were ignoring them.
 
I reckon the "6 months" is to stop people thinking it's nearly over (or even completely over). But it's more fudge and faff rather than any real action.

The Asda in Hulme is so irresponsible; I can’t bring myself to shop in there any longer because of how many people they let in the store. There is no chance of social distancing. I was getting filled with panic and anxiety when I went shopping there so I have had to stop going completely.

I think what’s happened is they calculated the total number of customers allowed in at any one time according to the square footage of the store. But the aisles are so narrow and they’ve also included the square footage of the comparatively little used upper level to work out how many customers can be allowed in. And rather than the customers being spread out all over the store, they are crammed into the narrow food aisles. It’s so dangerous.
 
One of my friends (and soon to be flatmate :disco:) was supposed to be going on a date on Thursday, which he says he’s not feeling. I’m encouraging him to still go, cause you never know. And at least now he has the perfect excuse to cut it short. “Sorry hun, curfew, k bye”

Asda Hulme is gross any way but you’re right there is zero chance of social distancing.

it’s my closest one but I don’t go there unless it’s unavoidable.
 
I live in Castlefield so I go to the Sainsbury’s on Regent Road, which is so much more expensive than Asda and, surprisingly, their vegan range is nowhere near as good which is frustrating. But it feels so much safer shopping in there.

Barrow Asda is basically the skankiest part of Barrow, which is SAYING SOMETHING
I'd expect to get covid in the Battle To Get Through The Main Doorways that always goes on where half a dozen people charge at the opening with a pram as if they're trying to get to platform 9 3/4.

I do like the Tesco Extra in Old Trafford, but it’s just that little bit too far to be lugging bags of shopping home from.
 
The Tesco Express on Oxford Road became my LOCAL last year after I got sick of the Asda at HULME :disco:
