Has anyone else been getting ‘Potential Exposure’ notifications from the app? I’ve had a few and it’s quite annoying as once I go into the app it doesn’t show me any more information? :confused:

It just means that you’ve been in the vicinity of someone who has tested positive. Not for any length of time that requires you to self-isolate, but just to be on your guard should you develop potential Covid symptoms.

"back at the COVID peak"? this IS the new Covid peak if we're going by cases. every country that's having its second wind is experiencing higher daily cases than during the first time round. deaths have not yet caught up mercifully.

Were the UK not getting about 20k cases a day at the peak? Am I going MAD? I obviously just wasn’t paying attention which is no bad thing, really.

the daily peak first time round was 7860 on April 10, but that was an outlier - the next-biggest figure was 5618 on May 1. now the UK is getting 6500+ every day. so yep, new peak in those terms!

770 positive in a Northumbria university but only 10% showing symptoms. Just shows. I have a feeling a large chunk of the numbers we're seeing are targeted testing whenever one young person gets a positive test somewhere, and that the young might pretty much all have it. Herd immunity through the back door?

If today's still-level figures include the 770 then that's not bad. If they don't, then expect an "ohshit" number tomorrow.
