So I’ve received a WhatsApp message from someone I met once, which is a picture of him naked on his back except for a cap, legs spread, giving the middle finger to the camera with the caption:

Fun House - Anti-social distancing
Hot chav lads and party boys
07563 xxxxxx for location now

FFS!
I presume this is local so can you please send the number x

But is he hot?

I had my flu jab this morning. My appointment was at 9.18am at the ARCH MEDICAL PRACTICE in HULME (it was run with military precision).

I’ve had jabs before, but after I left the surgery, I started to feel light headed, groggy and my vision went a bit blurry. So I went back to the surgery and a nurse sat me down for 10 minutes, gave me some water and sat with me until I was strong enough to be on my way.

They look after you in HULME.

Did you get a BISCUIT?
No. And I’m VEGAN (I may have mentioned it once or twice before) so would have had to turn it down.

But I’m fine now. I walked home through the PARK in HULME and had a lie down when I got in.

I sort of skim-read this page and thought this was you coming back from the GAY CHEM SEX PARTY. What self respecting gay doesn't have VEGAN ALTERNATIVES at their slam parties?

12872.

but

Due to a technical issue, which has now been resolved, there has been a delay in publishing a number of COVID-19 cases to the dashboard in England. This means the total reported over the coming days will include some additional cases from the period between 24 September and 1 October, increasing the number of cases reported.

Oh just release the bloody figures already instead of all this nonsense of holding back figures to make it look like less people are infected. Surely the fact we are at that number and hospital/ICU admissions as well as deaths still being relatively low is bloody good news. GOOD GRIEF.

The government reporting people don't know their arse from their elbow. I'm going to start tracking the ZOE figures, primarily (that's 20493 by the way, but it's been sitting at 20k for a bit now hence they're saying it's levelling off). That's the "real" number based on things like symptom reporting, actual cases and AI so is always higher than the confirmed cases.

A day? SWEET MARY MOTHER OF JESUS SAVE ME.

Zoe is different from Zoella, right? I remember my daughter having quite the obsession with her that I was questioning lesbianism, but again I digress...

As mentioned above ZOE is the people who run the Kings College symptom study

Yup. 250,099 is the estimate of total active cases. Which is a scary number but is 0.38% of the population, for what it's worth

A lot of those people would have minor symptoms of course, so don’t panic.

but are the symptoms a result of YOUR body, or does the severity of the person infecting you make a difference?

so if someone with minor symptoms sneezes on someone with underlying medical issues, is that going to be serious no matter who sneezes on them?

Oh OK so the numbers levelling off in recent days was nothing but a bit of fudgery then? Nice. :manson:

They did the same back in spring when the UK would never mysteriously go over +1,000 deaths at the highest peak of the pandemic but then suddenly they added about 5,000 dead to the total count on a Sunday night when nobody was watching claiming "readjustments".

Or the fudgery when they decided that people need to die within 28 days to be classed as dead, and then magically fewer people are dying and we have thousands of undead. I'm trusting government figures less and less, and starting to lean towards following independent ones like that 'ZOE' symptom study. Which, while based more on a prediction model and not exact numbers, at least gives us an honest picture of whether it's going up down or sideways without anyone trying to manipulate it to give people the confidence to go to work or whatever.

Not an expert on all this but I think from all the reading around that someone with a mild/asymptomatic reaction tends to only be shedding a low viral load, and so others would receive a low 'dose' as well, and that severity is linked to viral load. Partly explaining why, while it's relatively under control, we're not seeing much hospitalisation vs. March/April when there was almost no testing, everyone had it and you were more likely to be sat in an unventilated room with several infected people and no masks.

Being coughed or sneezed on however is obviously going to contain quite a bit of virus regardless.

This is absolutely preposterous :D

HOW are they still getting it so wrong?

and are we going in to lockdown? I need to know, please and thank you.

God I don’t half go on about ME a lot on this thread sometimes, like it isn’t affecting everyone else. sorry loves!

I’m of course praying for society too x

I don't see how "tests we forgot to count" is quite enough to explain this. On course for that October lockdown then
