I just feel a bit TRAPPED. Being stuck back at home for over a month now is a killer and I just hate not having as much independence as I have back at uni (well as much as you can with restrictions etc). It does make SENSE to stay here, I have my job at least so it’s a no brainier (and of course I’m lucky enough to still have one!). I just miss being in my OWN HOUSE :(
 
There is a sauna near my parents favoured by the local ASIAN COMMUNITY, which I’ve unfortunately never got round to FREQUENTING. I’m sure the reality would be quite FAR REMOVED from the fantasy.

I’m quite happy as I’m not paying any rent in London right now so I’m saving a SMALL FORTUNE.
 
This acquaintance of mine on fb who is SO irritating just posted;

I never respond to her but couldn't hold back. I posted a link to the WHO page that says they DO spread. She replies within seconds saying the WHO change their mind and 3 other studies show otherwise. Another minute later and she's deleted and blocked me!

This is exactly the reason why these pig headed shits who don't believe in it all get away with it. They are allowed to post their nonsense and when they get pulled up on it, they silence the other person telling the truth. I'm just so annoyed so many people are falling for it.

That the next few months will have a massive say in what teachers end up giving her if CAGs are used. If a student stops working at this point they are not going to be given a grade at all frankly - if they work hard, there's every chance teachers will reward that and in some cases, whether they'll admit it or not, teachers will reward it more than the student would have realistically achieved.

Oh I know! I just wish there was a bit more emphasis on adults having to stay home unless it's essential. I know that's what he said, but let's face it nothing has changed on that front from previous.

I'm incandescent with rage about this one. That these fuckers are not being charged with mass manslaughter is beyond me.
 
I'm actually strangely relieved about today's announcements. I think we've long since established that the Great British Public cannot be trusted to follow simple rules given to them, so we need to force them to stay home.

Yes I know the government could have handled it a lot better and Boris is a massive tit, but there's only so many times you can tell someone they need to wear a mask in the queue at Starbucks. If they're still refusing to do it in December I'm glad it's fucking closing. It's horrible for the local businesses but this is what happens in a 'liberal' society. Privilege trumps common sense. It's much easier to believe that "it's no worse than flu" if you can't possibly handle the tragic inconvenience of cutting your own hair.

I'm not even sure what that means anymore.

Almost everything in our town centre (Tier 4) is open except gyms and salons. During the first lockdown, the town centre was deserted and the bare minimum shops open. Now, everyone seems to have found a way around the restrictions to be classed as 'essential'. Even the comic book shop is running a limited pick-up service, which still means you can go in and browse.

I completely understand why businesses are doing it. But I really don't think this lockdown is going to be anything like the first one at all. Even if only half of the high street is open, that's still more temptation to leave the house than there was last March.
 
It'll be exactly the same as the second lockdown except the kids will be at home, surely? People have increasingly less patience. I bet even viewing figures are down.
 
Open air swimming pools to shut :( The only thing I've left my house for in the last month apart from food :(

Glad those Premiership footballers can still play because god forbid we keep entertainment away from the PLEBS though :manson: And I'm sure the usual raft of "diplomats" will still be swanning across and in and out of the country because DIFFERENT CLASS.

They're going to struggle with any enforcement. That horse already bolted when lockdown 1 was so light touch. The only thing that may actually help is that the weather is ROTTEN at the moment and it gets dark very early because otherwise everyone is going to mingling worse than before.

It’s very similar to what’s happening here. We’ve been in our second lockdown for two months now but in a way all shops have found a way to be in business through pick up and the numbers are still increasing (probably due to people socializing).
