I got an email from my hairdressers saying they were taking online bookings from 12th April. I got right in there whether they open or not just to get some kind of priority later.

Supply issues according to Matt Hancock, this is bullocks according to the manufacturers.

When am I likely to get my hair done please? I can do my own nails IF I MUST, but I NEED a trim and a BOUNCY BLOW DRY like NOW!

PRIORITIES FOR CHRIST SAKE!!

I would just like to point out that I know we are in a pandemic and my hair is small fry in the grand scheme of things, but still. DO THEY NOT KNOW WHO I AM? :oi:

I read this post on Facebook yesterday :D

Advise please ladies ... I usually have my eyebrows done and the last I had them done, was like a week before lockdown. Right now, I was meant to be in Dubai and I was gonna have them done there, as well as my hair and shopping etc everything can’t do here. But since they banned flights to and from UAE and the ban on international travel was introduced, that of course went out the window and cancelled.

My eyebrows are in a right state and it’s likely I’ll be going back to work on the same date that salons open, on 12th April. I won’t be able to go to the salon then, as I’ll be at work and God knows I cannot go to work with bushy eyebrows my workplace is specific on grooming standards etc and I wear full on makeup and all that shabang for work. I used those wax strips from Boots for eyebrows during previous lockdowns, but they were a nightmare and fiddly and I don’t know what the hell I am doing, plus I need to wear my glasses to see what I am doing and that’s hard to do as my glasses overlap the eyebrows and it’s just all a whole mess ended up doing them without glasses - please HELP! Suggestions please. Thank you xx

Please make sure your hair uses the ghost from now on. :ghost:

In the name of the father, in the name of the son, in the name of the Holy Ghost. Who decided to wake up the old crone? I was praying she WAS a ghost and was burning in the realms of hell. Honey, it isn’t my fault that you have spent the last 80 years with your barnet covered by a veil. I hear it’s all a little BOY GEORGE under there.

Moderna appear to have the new version of their vaccine against the South African variant ready for clinical trials. RNA vaccines are relatively easier to adapt and now that the vaccine has been approved, a new version doesn't need to go through the entire lengthy process. YAY.

Tell that to your split ends.

Leeds/Reading festival sold out today (Leeds for the first time in a decade it's even sold out) following the announcement they're going ahead.

It really is going to be mental once we're all allowed out again. People are champing at the bit.

Yeah, I saw on facebook earlier when I was scrolling through my timeline (which only happens once in a blue moon these days) - I'm very curious to see what it's going to be like when the majority but not everyone is going to be vaccinated. Not saying we'll be in for a rude awakening but it's going to remain a rocky year, I guess. Sometimes better, sometimes worse.

Everybody is meant to be vaccinated by the end of July, albeit just a first dose. I hope that means Carnival is going to go ahead, it’s gonna be DERRANGED!!!

Age is something quantifiable that you can't argue about. Can you imagine the BUN FIGHT between occupations? There's no way they could get that right!

But surely putting anyone who’s working frontline (be it in a hospital/supermarket etc) at the front of the queue can’t be THAT hard.

So they're going to prioritise by age next, because it would be too hard to do it by occupation. :eyes:
I swear they already were doing it by occupation. I know so many people who have told me of friends and family members who have had it based on their job. I think it’s just been suggested that other occupations are added like transport workers and teachers.

I suppose once you get through all the caring / health worker roles, it does get a bit “well why is HE going before ME” and no doubt unions would be having their say and it could just be a bit of a headache.

Hospital staff have already been vaccinated though haven't they? You certainly have! I do agree, people working in shops should get priority. It's just difficult to determine who works where and who gets priority over whom

Yeah I realised that once I’d posted :D

But yeah surely those in that age bracket that work in supermarkets/other places that are open at the mo, and even looking further down the line to those who work in retail/tourist attractions that may open back up in a couple of months should certainly be towards the front of the queue.

I’m failing you see why a teacher in their 20s/30s with no prior health condition should be prioritised over someone in their 40s???

Not sure if you were quoting ME but I’m talking about that now the 40-49 age bracket is going to be the next group, the government SHOULD be prioritising it by occupation, as they announced they weren’t.

But yes, anyone in a front line occupation of any age should be at the front of the queue.
