Will be interesting to see the UK figures when released, considering the French numbers. I think we test more and I think are also more boosted but as equally unlocked down (notwithstanding Scotland and Wales).

This all seems quite bad again.

I'd be interested to know if her LF flags up in a day or so, when the virus is more prominent in her body.

I think we’re doing around 2 million tests a day these days.
Schools go back on January 3rd as usual. They’ve just been asked to open the windows every now and then :)
 
A teacher friend of mine was told about a week ago to prepare for not going back on the 4th, that there might be a short circuit breakers till the 8th
 
I do wonder if I had it the past couple of weeks. I’m absolutely exhausted all the time at the moment and the cold itself is still lingering. Constant negative LFTs (including another today) and, of course, didn’t get my results back off the PCR test I did a week ago, so just don’t know. The only thing I’m thinking means I didn’t is that not anyone I’ve been around has gone down with it.

The conclusion being- IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS RIDICULOUSLY UNCERTAIN.
 
LFT aren't the issue but I'm trying to book a PCR (need it for work on Tuesday) and it's so much more complicated than it should be. I'll never say a bad word about Austria again.

It does include 5 days of data from N. Ireland but it's still huge
 
If London has peaked then that’s great. It does mean we’re in for a couple of weeks of scary numbers while the rest of the country catches up, but at least if it follows the London pattern, it’ll be short lived.
 
10,000 people in hospital looks grim but there was a study that suggested that 1 in 3 of those are non-Covid related who tested positive upon arrival.

Factor in the extremely elderly/vulnerable and the unvaccinated, or at least unboostered, and it would be interesting to see what figures we’re looking at then.

I think they don't even then, there are many stories in the news about people who even after hospital admission, refuse to comply with what the medical teams ask them, refuse respirators, refuse to sign to be admitted to induced coma, ask for treatment that they give to the doctors themselves or after suggestion of other antivax friends they have and who claim to know how to save them etc. Btw yesterday there were record highs in Malta, Portugal, Denmark, Ireland too.
