Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

That is excellent news considering the abysmal ratings.

That said, I did think this weeks two episodes were really poor. The new evil lawyer is such an obvious Greg substitute and I didn't buy Josh and Rebecca's reunion at all. Both felt like total panic-moments based on the show tanking when it moved away from its initial central premise.

I didn't even like any of the musical numbers much. :(

The first of the two new ones was the better one, really like "So Maternal"

Put down a towel

Full version coming soon confirmed by Rachel :D

Remember That We Suffered is my favourite song in a good few episodes. :D

"STREISAND and HITLER"

It's back! Does anyone care?

To be honest I'm not sold on the premise for this season at all, and the first episode was pretty boring. :(

I did LOL at the end of the Let's Generalise About Men song, but that's about it.

Well first two starting is very promising, liking the bugger roles for the office people especially the little one with glasses. Let's generalise about men is amazing :D

I was pissed off with the show after the dreadful Season 2 finale but I've caught up with the first 5 eps of S3 now (albeit only half-watching while playing Mario Odyssey) and it really is back on form.

Heather's big musical number has been a highlight.

Josh is, as ever, the worst thing about the show.

BRING BACK GREG

After low expectations, I'm intrigued by the dark direction this season is taking. I can't stand lawyer boss though. His character just feels like a total waste of time.

That latest episode was amazing. Got a little emotional at points...very well done

Did anyone get to the end of this season?

Sadly, after some promising developments in the first half, it really went off the boil for me. It just felt like it was completely all over the place in terms of the tone and the plotlines, and it no longer felt like it had any grounding in reality.

The ratings remain pitiful too, but apparently due to weird US syndication rules if a network show survives to Season 3 it's virtually guaranteed to also get a Season 4.

All that being said, Paula's miracle of birth song in the season finale was fun.

I think it was better than season 2 in general, the songs were mainly stronger. Getting Trent back was a bit crap tbh

I’ve been marathoning the second and third season in the last two weeks and I quite enjoyed them. Season 3 kinda hit a rough patch in the middle (the Paula hometown episode was blah) and they have more characters than they know what to with but it’s still a fun silly show.

I also enjoy Nathaniel and Trent has very big nipples.

Oh and I really hate the colorful extensions in Heather’s hair and the gay surrogate story (seriously there are other gay stories than having fucking children).

I just want to know what went wrong with Santino, because something sure did

Why would anyone want him back?

I didn't mind him but the show has moved on and I like Rebecca with Nathaniel.

From what I understood he left cause he wanted to be back in NYC and the show was f successful enough.

Really?! He was one of my favourite things about the show.
He was a great character but they just ruined him with the alcoholic storyline. I heard they just accelerated that story to make way for his exit so it may have been initially planned to be better.

Apparently he doesn't even mention CXG on any of the bio materials in his current project (a musical version of Tootsie on Broadway) despite listing much, much smaller TV roles and even some web series he appeared on. :side-eye:

Ooh. That's rather TELLING. People on Reddit have also noted that he and Rachel have never once said anything complimentary or supportive to or about each other and their projects, for whatever that's worth.

So this is back for the final season.

To be honest, I think it went really off-the-rails plot-wise from about mid-way through season 2 and never recovered. But I hang in for the musical numbers.

This was the best from the first episode IMO.

Agreed.

I preferred No One Else Is Singing My Song from this week. Where was White Josh though? Main Josh remains completely shit and more pointless than ever.

The main problem I have is that almost all the characters are now either pointless or completely insufferable.

I don't care about Nathaniel's emotional problems.
Paula's great on the songs but her non-musical arc is just spinning its wheels
They've clearly got no idea what to do with Darryl and White Josh
Valencia is basically just a background extra at this point

The non-musical standout of the most recent episode was definitely Heather.

"Nothing's going to change the fact that you're a rich white lady who pled guilty to murder for dramatic effect" :D

Very good episode this week I thought! The two songs were HIGHLY enjoyable at least.

I haven't even caught up with this show for a while, but this week Rachel Bloom announced a One Night Only Comedy/Musical show at the Palladium. I missed out on the pre-sale yesterday but it turns out it completely sold out, so she added a second date for the general sale. Once again sold out almost instantly, but I managed to secure two seats at the back. I had NO IDEA she was this popular considering the ratings.

So annoying she isn't doing Manchester. I couldn't get any time off on these dates

I really struggled through seasons 3 and 4 but stuck with it for the occasional brilliant songs. I think the problem might have been that they were always on the edge of cancellation, so they packed way too much plot into season 3, then had nothing left in the tank for season four. Because in the first half, NOTHING happened.

New Gregg never worked for me at all, either.

That said, the last couple of episodes were very nice, if predictable. I found the date between Rebecca and Josh in the penultimate one to be really sweet.

There's also a live show on Netflix which is lots of fun, if a bit rushed.
