I think it was The Hives in Leeds around 2003, they were supported by THE SUBWAYS.
 
I think it was STEPS. I vividly remember we had seats 5 6 7 and 8 which was presumably quite the LOL.

I would count my "first" though as first after I properly got into music circa 03, and I'm not sure who it would be - probably Showgirl Homecoming OR The Sweet Escape Tour, both in 07.

My first "adult" concert (without my parents) was Fall Out Boy/Gym Class Hereos/Cute Is What We Aim For. Weirdly the Arctic Monkeys were the opening act

Depends. My first gig that was "just" a gig was Ride and the Glasgow QMU in 1990. However, I have been reminded that the Nolans headlined the Super Summer Special show we went to in Scarborough in 1981. I assert that they were simply last on a mixed bill of entertainers rather than a full-scale headlining Nolans concert. They didn't play any more than 4 or 5 songs. That's not a gig, that's a PA.
 
STEPS in Wembley around 98/99 with my parents. First time with a friend was in think MIKA in Brighton '07. He filled the arena cos he's so quirky like.
 
Thank goodness I was too drunk to remember, but I too have seen bands at the QMU and well before Madge (never thought I'd say those words again - I hated both Glasgow uni venues for going out though, I was such a music snob in those days :D)
 
Depends how you define gig, but sadly I suspect it was Bush also at Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1997.

After that Blondie or Garbage probably at Brixton Academy.

I can't remember the first gig I saw without being taken by my parents. My mum took me to the Dooleys concert, and to my first few Bucks Fizz concerts. Then I remember going to see Gary Numan with my cousin Jayne (not a fan myself, but she was supposed to be going with her boyfriend who dumped her). By the mid 80s I was going with my friend Peter though. I think it may have been a-ha at the Bristol Hippodrome.
