Deep Dish - Flashdance

TOTAL THROWBACK but @The Anti-Dubsden got me on a little Deep Dish FIX thanks to his mention of Dreams with Stevie - which is nice and all, but hardly a patch on FLASHDANCE



I was quite obsessed with this back in the day. It was probably one of my first proper fixations on dance music, having been strictly a mini pop queen until my early teens.

It really is quite delicious. Reminds me quite a lot of Paul Oakenfold and Brittany Murphy's Faster Kill Pussycat, which came out a couple of years later, and also Chicane's Stoned In Love (A BANGER). It's all about the bassline and that driving rhythm. GOOD STUFF.

I also loved Say Hello which wasn't quite as big but was a lovely melancholy stomper.

Say Hello is in the same dream world as Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers. Me and one of my uni flatmates used to enjoy Flash Dance at Glasgow's then premier mid-week gay dancehall at the time, but I never seek it out much these days.
