Awake early. Quite unwell. Still and again.
Do you keep naloxone at home?Having to work from home today as Mr F forgot he'd taken his tablets last night so he took them all again. He's absolutely trollied and his pupils are almost as big as his eyes, he just keeps grinning inanely and saying "I feel great, absolutely wonderful, this is amazing haaa haaa haaa". His opiates are all prolonged release so he's about an hour past the peak now. I'm keeping an ear out to make sure he's still breathing.
Nope, I wasn't aware that was possible. I thought only paramedics and doctors had access to it.Do you keep naloxone at home?
He's going to speak to the GP about it. Thankyou. xPharmacies and drug services can certainly provide it - I dish it out all the time, with training on how to administer it. I'm guessing supply may be different across the country though.
Obviously a different client group, but ultimately it's the same drug it's being used to reverse the effects of.
