Mainly so I can post this little performance number somewhere- BY FUCK you don't see shit like this on tv no more. MORE'S THE PITY.

The way that it goes from ballad to pop/disco to all out FUNKARAMA by the end and LA ROSS owns the lot. UTTERLY FABULOUS :disco:

Anyway, the song itself really is one of my all time favourites in all its versions, albeit the "Diana Deluxe" premiered original version may be my favourite, simply because it goes on for 10 minutes rather than 6! I imagine quite instrumental in bringing disco to the masses as well, for which we are truly grateful...

Utterly irresistible. That yellow and gold outfit in the video is glorious. So sexy whilst still being so sweet, still hitting the spot in clubs, so incredibly well crafted compared to modern dance music. A relentless feel good solid TEN.

I'm hoping for ACROSS THE BOARD TENS

There will be the IMMENSE WIND OF FURY if someone ruins it

I'm in a PROPER DIANA MOOD at the moment. I can't get enough :disco:

A clear 10, but as Disco Diana goes I find myself listening more to The Boss and I Ain't Been Licked. This era was all so good, though, you really can't go wrong.

I had "The Boss" album on in the car on the way to work ONLY THIS MORNING, and both (plus "No One Gets The Prize") are RIGHT UP THERE, but "Love Hangover" is just TOO GOOD and "Lovin, Livin and Givin" is my runner up, before we get to "The Boss...

The 12" medley of The Boss/No One Gets The Prize is just too good

I'm going to have to put Diana Deluxe CD2 on now

Oh how I love "Diana Deluxe", though my copy is a bit BATTLEWORN these days. I wish I'd gotten all those Diana Hip-O-Select remasters that now go for exhorbitant prices at the time. I've managed to grab the Black Album in recent times, but that's about IT...

Top of my Hip-O wishlist is Where Did Our Love Go which is currently on Amazon for $379. I've got most (all?) of the other expanded Supremes albums and they're just unbelievably good reissues.

And what the hell happened to the planned Complete Motown Albums box set?

It's the VERY DEFINITION of :disco: and anyone who doesn't agree has NO RIGHT ever using that smiley again.

What are these Hip-O releases of which you both soeak? Not those ones we have discussed a few times here that I did pick up for Mr L?

Yeah. I've also got "I Hear A Symphony" but that's it. I intend to get the lot eventually, but it'll cost me an ARM AND A LEG to do so :(

Is there stuff on them unavailable elsewhere, or is it just the :david: in you?

I think there's lots of unreleased stuff on them. The black "Diana Ross" album has a whole disc of alternate takes (not that necessary but interesting) and a good few completely unreleased things...

I just heard all 8 minutes of this, out in public. Absolutely glorious.
