Ive spent all morning cleaning bits of the top floor no one can see, skirtings behind stuff etc. It was well overdue, I feel like weve been living in FILTH

Leaving work last night the boss asked if I had anything nice planned over the weekend. I replied that I'd "treated myself" to a Flash fluffy duster thing with extendable handle and an extra pack of fluffy dusters so I was looking forward to de-cobwebbing all the corners of the ceilings in the house.

Sad.

Can you come round here and HOOVER ALL ROUND THE SKIRTING BOARDS WITH THE ATTACHMENT because if I hear about how it needs to be done ONE MORE TIME there is going to be a MURDER :)
Mr F and I now have an agreement. If he notices something that he thinks should be cleaned (yeah, right, as if) he has my full approval to go ahead and clean it, if he doesn't want to clean it himself he shouldn't mention it to me at all because I'll get around to it in my own sweet time when I've finished my full-time job, all of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping and miscellaneous tasks.

I MAY HAVE MENTIONED THAT

Yeah this is why the skirting boards were fucking hanging. I do all the deep, long and dirty cleaning jobs. Ms Ron (mostly) does the quick whip round jobs, I was well behind,

Just managed 3 hours of sleep for the first time since Wednesday. May have just been my body physically shutting down from exhaustion but hopefully a corner turned. 🙏
are you sick? or just not able to sleep?

are you sick? or just not able to sleep?

Ear infection from hell which is also impacting my jaw and throat. Can't open my mouth, can barely swallow, in too much pain to sleep and mainlining enough Ibuprofen that I'm worried I'm going to give myself a stomach ulcer before this is over.

I was prescribed a course of Penicillin but 3-days in it appears to be doing fuck all, so I assume it's a viral infection.

Please go back to your GP VoR, you might just need better/different antibiotics. You're already run down from it and if it isn't viral your body won't be strong enough to stop it worsening. Are you alternating your ibuprofen doses with paracetamol (or cocodamol)?

Yes I’m taking Ibuprofen with Paracetamol.

The doctor at the walk-in centre did say if it gets worse I should go to A&E and ask to see an ear, nose and throat specialist. I don’t relish doing that at the height of this massive flu spike (which I’m not discounting this could be related to) but if I see no improvement by Monday when my course of Penicillin finishes, that’s going to be my only recourse really.

Antibiotics can take a few days to work, so hopefully they haven't fully kicked in yet and you may yet feel better on what you've got. But absolutely get yourself to A&E on Monday if you don't.

Yeah when I had an ear infection I found that things didn't start improving until the penultimate day of the antibiotics course.

My ear infection took a year to resolve. It took steroid ear drops to finally rectify it.

I have just ventured out into the cold for a CHEESEBOARD.
