Dido - Still On My Mind (Boring 5th Studio Album)

Lettuce and Dido is such a an obvious match.:disco: Will get myself some boring lettuce for my first listen tonight.

omg is she going down the 'early 'aughts MOR star rebrands by being self-deprecating on twitter' route a la James Blunt?

Can we please talk more about this groundbreaking album

The scandalous blasphemy of You Don't Need a God

The Mylene Farmer-ness of Take You Home

The primal, labia-out PJ Harvey banshee anger of Giving You Up

No?

Okay then.

Honestly though I do like this album...

I've got it on now while doing some light tidying. It just fits so well with doing menial household chores, running errands, doing anything really other than focusing on the music itself. QUEEN!!!

She put the records back in their place
And straightened her dress, and wiped her face
She closed and locked the door
And left them lying on the floor
And she sang
Some kind of love

QUEEN.

I gave this album a spin (whilst also doing the housework) and y’know what it’s actually pretty good

Take You Home stood out on first listen

Yep - I would say Take You Home is probably my current favourite as well..

Guys are you streaming the album or shall we buy some physical copies ?

Also is she planning a tour? DIDO MOOPY MEET :disco:

A bit disappointed her UK tour isn't more extensive! And The Roundhouse is quite a small venue - I'm sure she'll easily sell it out and add another date, no?

Ugh

Surely she will add more UK dates - though given her current itinerary and her international superstar status* I imagine she'll be more keen to add more US and Europe dates than go round the provinces.

Sidebar: I'm really tempted with the CD/vinyl/signed print £28 package on the official website. God bless her for throwing in a CD in the package rather than a download link - forever 1999.

The title track, Take Me Home and Some Kind of Love are all fantastic, her best in years, and far better than the single or buzz track. I haven't listened to the rest yet but it seems like she's got it back. I wonder how this will do?

she's lost quite a bit of her vocal range though hasn't she? listening to this back to back with her debut it's very noticeable. I wonder why, she never toured much did she?

Do we know how this is doing in the midweeks? It seems to have stayed solid at number 1 on iTunes since it’s release.

I have never heard of Foals 2000. I am quite shocked Sigrid has managed to chart so high. I thought she was a one hit wonder.

Maybe badly worded by me - Foals are 2000 sales ahead. :D

I did think Sigrid's hype had dissipated (I haven't got to listening to the album yet), but her current single is on the up at the moment.
