Disgraced Former Entertainer Rolf Harris DEAD

We should follow the BBC’s lead and name the thread “Serial abuser and ex-entertainer Rolf Harris DEAD”.

I'm really sad about this. (Because I thought I had him on the Moopy Deathlist but it turns out I did not :()

Was there a bigger fall from grace in a UK context?

Savile was post-death and always had a reputation for being a little creepy - Harris was genuinely beloved for a long time

It’s strange as to look at him he went from quite a loveable old grandad figure to really evil looking.

Is his wife still alive? She looked like she was at deaths door for a number of years ago when she supported him at one of his trials.

I loved Animal Hospital as a kid :( I mean, BANGER:

Shame he was an evil nonce.

The last time I recall even hearing about him he was seen outside a school. UGH.

If we're doing Rolf Harris memories, we used to have a cassette of his children's songs that we'd be subjected to on long drives.

I Want My Mummy is particularly burned onto my psyche. :zombie:

I wonder what will happen to his portrait of Queen Elizabeth. Nobody wanted the ugly thing even before the kiddy-fiddling.

Rolfs Cartoon Club was a peado ring

I mean GOOD RIDDANCE to bad shit and all that.

I can't help but remembering the positive impact he did have on me growing up (shut up with jokes) and that does make me the tiniest bit sad, not for his death, but for the death of his character, which obviously went a few years ago.

I know what you're saying. I grew up in the era of Jim'll Fix It and Rolf's Cartoon Club and it was essential Saturday evening viewing. I would try and copy his drawings when he showed us how to do a quick sketch of Daffy Duck etc. I also remember Harris going on Wogan to sing Two Little Boys and the audience joined in on the chorus, singing softly but audibly and I was genuinely moved.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the two of them are roasting in the hottest corner of hell but...oh, you know.

Y’know, I always debate this. I never want to celebrate anyone’s death, however awful they are. There are people left behind who will grieve, whatever they did.

I felt the same way about Thatcher, although admittedly she wasn’t a nonce. Well, not that we know of…
Thatcher fucked the entire country, age was no barrier.

I remember when it all came out thinking 'Oh no - Not Rolf!' There are certain people you are not shocked by and then when this came out I was just quite upset and disappointed as I remember Animal Hospital being so comforting and his Art Attack show or whatever it was.

I suppose For The Love of Dogs took over where Animal Hospital left off but I think they could bring that back under a new name etc.

How many famous nonces left? Gary Glitter can't have TOO LONG LEFT

I know Sky News Australia is right wing trash, but FOR ONE TIME ONLY I AGREE with everything said here.
