Disney's 'Moana' Live-Action Remake Sets Official Release Date

The Dwayne Johnson-led project will come out in 2025.

It's not even 10 years old.

Having said that, it's my favourite recent Disney animation, so I can't wait.

What an odd decision. Why not put the effort into a sequel?

I don’t understand why anybody would be excited about this. Live action remakes are incredibly reductive anyway, but for a film less than a decade old it’s just so unimaginative.

I only just saw the full trailer yesterday. This looks INSANELY CHEAP. We all know all of these “live action” remakes are mostly shot in a green screen studio, but it’s so incredibly obvious here.

This is the must UNNECESSARY live-action Disney has ever produced; who even asked for this? The original cartoon one hasn't even turned 10 years old yet.

It's getting torn to shreds by joyless critics because it's apparently just a shot for shot, word for word remake. 37% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I liked it. It is very heavy on the green screen and The Rock is wearing a weird suit that exaggerates everything and makes him look fat and the actress playing Moana is too old, and the new song doesn't work but it's still a good effort. A solid 6.

I didn't sell that well.

Just got back from seeing this and really enjoyed it. It was just a good feel good movie.
