Diving into Tori: help a girl out (she'll darn your socks and wash your...) (1 Viewer)

I thought this was a bit nothingy at the time (& it became her first lead single to miss the UK Top 40) but time has been VERY KIND

my first listen response to this was QUITE PLEASANT but it's blossoming. great production, bonkers lyrics.

all of the following singles were better than Bliss

moment of appreciation for the horns (?) outro of Hotel that ends on what sounds like a rogue fart.

Mark, listen to me, you’re going to want to buy the Scarlet’s Walk Limited Edition which comes with the fold out poster map, and sit down and listen to the album, following the route (get help if you’re colourblind), then listen to Scarlet’s Hidden Treasures.

Before you listen to any of the others.
I have scarlets walk and american doll posse already bought.
I listened to ocean to ocean last night and wasn't too impressed with it, but I'm finding her albums to be growers.
I'll try scarlets walk tonight.

I never bothered with O2O tbh. The tour was great though.

I lost what the point was, I just love my fucking twot!
My point was (& I get nobody, including you cares, I'm just being a PEDANT) is that if you'd give any song from her to Britney to sing, it'd be that one. I can totally get her singing it. Humour me & imagine it for a sec & you'll see what I mean.

I'm also a bottle and a half of wine in, so sorry Ig bbz I'm probably talking nonsense. Father Lucifer has never looked so sane.

the nerve of her to say that Britney's career hasn't been so hot after Toxic :D

Well I just listened to scarlets walk and I found it a bit of a chore to get through. A lot of the songs were forgettable and overall it was too long IMO. I can now see what people say when they say she lost it after the first few albums.

OH HUN

I'd give it more of a chance if you're so inclined because it IS one of her masterpieces

Musically it's softer than albums that came before it, which I think can be jarring if you're not expecting it, but my God what a collection of songs.

I should probably like Tori Amos more than I do, but I once had a panic attack while working on the bar at one of her concerts.

omg? this pre-Ray of Light funky techno serve?

:disco:!

on The Beekeeper... obsessed with this Swedish (?) TV interview from the promo in which she embarks on quite a tangent describing songwriting as "seeing light filaments, entering the shape of a melody, and inside that shape looking for a door, or a window..." while sounding somewhat woo-woo :disco: she then sings unprompted. what a delightful woman.

Well I've done a complete u turn and after repeated listens, scarlets walk is now one of my fave albums by tori that I've heard so far.

Hopefully you like scarlets walk. I wasn't keen on it at first but it's now one of my fave albums by her. Well the ones I've heard so far.
