Do they know it's Tuesday?

Been out and about and hit the HMV sale - not great but I did get a Frank Zappa 3CD down from £44.99 to £10.99. And it had actually been on the shelves at £44.99 rather than this being the usual 'list price that was charged for one copy in October" nonsense. PinkPatheress CD for £5.99, the deluxe of the Johnny Marr best of for a tenner and I got my Bowie calendar with 40% (rather than the customary 50% but times muct be hard for Calendar Club too).

Can we get Lucille's mum vacuuming in the banner please?

Failing that the Shake n Vac lady.

One of the garden squirrels (Red Face) came right up to me this morning when I was crouching in the doorway filming him, scampered up all three steps and sat six inches away from me (and my phone, filming)! I did have a handful of hazelnuts but I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.

I am the squirrel whisperer.

I just ate a shredded turkey sandwich with leftover pigs in blankets and barbeque sauce. Best part of Christmas.

Just made this monstrous grilled cheese leftover sandwich.

I felt very refreshed after my sea dip. I can see why people do it all the time. But I think I need wetsuit gloves cos I suffer badly with chilblains and my fingers were painful.

My old therapist used to talk a lot about how an icy dip can do wonders to boost wellbeing. I’d give it a go!

My cold has gone into fucking overdrive and I’ve basically spent all day in bed and can’t taste or smell anything. I don’t think it’s Covid, but waiting on someone to find a test. I am so fucking angry about this. I worked so hard trying to get this Christmas together and this is the third year in a row now I’ve felt like shit.

And fuck knows how I’m going to drive home four hours tomorrow.

BAH HUMBUG.

Hugs.

Feeling your pain although no four hour drive for me.

Gotten progressively more since Christmas Eve and having to squeeze an obligatory 5km run in regardless isn't fun. Not that today's could be called a run in good faith.

I'm finally beginning to feel better after a week. That's why I'm glad sometimes we don't have a big thing for Xmas, sometimes I think you work so hard towards something, then when it finally comes your body just gives up.

Finally the family shit is OVAH

I was falling asleep there. So very tired. Post illness, the whole thing has been a struggle.

Popped on a disco documentary on iPlayer to pep us up.

My parents have been here since Thursday, and it's been lovely - at and by large.

But I can tell I am really craving time to myself after working non-stop without weekends from 15 Nov - 21 December. So it's been this quite sudden switch from working all the time to being with family all the time and that's always a bit of a hard 180°.

That disco documentary is TOP NOTCH but I did enjoy the PROBABLY QUEER BBC subtitler who got the original Labelle version Lady Marmalade wrong, clearly not listening to the actual song and went with “He met Marmalade down in old Moulin Rouge”.
