Do we REALLY not have a Mel & Kim thread?

I found the US (I think) FLM cover in a shop in Denmark today in a RIGHT LITTLE GOLDMINE of a record store:

I was IMMEASURABLY excited but decided not to get it as I already have the album FOUR times and really don't need another to be honest...

Ooh, I've never seen that before. I presume there was nothing on there that wasn't already on the FLM DELUXE from a few years back.

Even that release showed the M&K vaults had nothing but SLIM PICKINGS left
 
The tracklisting was ordered in a rather odd way ("Showin Out" and "Respectable" both on Side 2 weirdly) but other than that, it was the same as the standard version...
 
I saw everyone on the FB SAW group getting wet about this before it happened and very little since. Apparently a whole new album of demos is due. While I appreciate the comprehensive release of SAW music, I can't imagine this being up to MUCH.
 
The good news re: the 'new song' - there's a 7th Heaven Remix incoming.

:disco: I see on the PledgeMusic site that “Unbelievably, it has been three decades since the last official Mel and Kim single.” Who would have thought? I mean I can hardly believe it myself. What HAVE they been doing? You’d almost be forgiven for thinking that one of them might have DROPPED DEAD!

Anyway, the single is really horrible and as for the VOCALS... Maybe Doris Stokes got her hands on a Calrec Soundfield Microphone :disco:
 
I noticed that was missing during my 90s thread. There's a good single on there, but I've already forgotten which one. I remember one single being rubbish...

"Light of the World" - I picked up the 12 inch of it for a mere 25p back in the day when it flopped at 41.
 
Kim’s second album will be re-released on streaming platforms. It was taken down last week to facilitate this. Can’t post a link here but it’s on the Mel & Kim FB and Insta pages.

Seems to be the first of the plans for the 40th anniversary tributes of Mel & Kim.

It would be great to see Kim come out and perform again for the 40th anniversary. But I feel she has detached herself and is tired of being associated with Mel & Kim.

Kim’s 1993 album is now remastered on all streaming platforms. I wonder is this in aid of the Mel & Kim 40th anniversary celebrations later this year.

I personally prefer her first album and think there were many nice songs on it. I think the fact Mel co-wrote the majority of songs while she was ill helped it to retain a bit of M&K.

I wonder what Kim is up to nowadays? Is she still writing or involved in the music capacity or has she retired. I know she is very private about her life.
