Nice to see the late Bernard Cribbins towards the end too 😌

As ever, the consolidated figures will be most important, but to drop only 0.3m from the anticipation that heralded last week's episode is strong. Shame it didn't beat I'm A Celeb again, though.

I liked this ep, but did not love it. It was all a bit flat for me until the closing moments with the WRONG DONNA ON THE TARDIS OMG

BUT I think this is more down to the fact that I just don't like the more traditonally 'sci-fi' set eps of Doctor Who, so a shiny white spaceship story was never going to do it for me, especially when it was basically all about said ship.

I very much enjoyed the funny moments though, like the revolving door that then took them back to where they were, and the mavity business.
 
I know it was being used as shorthand for 'the Doctor has been through a lot of stuff in the time some of you may not have been watching', but I think it was quite bold of RTD to directly reference both the Timeless Child and the Flux. It would've been very easy to gloss over or just not mention them, but he made a point to acknowledge that both happened and were important, however controversial they might have been to the fans. In fact, it feels like we got more actual introspection and exploration of how the Doctor feels about the Flux last night than we did in the Chibnall era :D
 
The fact that half the universe got permanently destroyed and it wasn't reset or reversed in any way is still absolutely WILD to me. And I still don't know if I like or dislike it! I still go back and forth on it, years later.
 
Unleashed was fun this week, plenty of laughs with the giant hand prosthetics and a nice tribute to Cribbins. I think I'd normally find the presenter a bit annoying but have realised I'm really quite attracted to him so that's helped a lot :tongueout:
 
I enjoyed the build up more than pay off I think, and the effects were awful! :D Still, was a fun episode!
 
I suppose like with the loss of the Time Lords in RTD's first run, he could play the "Flux destroying half the universe" thing up a bit, give it some emotional impact and gravity (er I mean mavity). I don't like it or the timeless child at all, but at least RTD can write, and turn it into something good. And then maybe in 10 years Moffat can come back and finally undo it :D
 
Surely the 'mavity' thing isn't finished with? They were both saying 'mavity' like it was the correct word. Has the universe been upended by their meeting with Newton?
 
There was a funny bit in Unleashed where David was trying to explain the temporal mechanics of gravity/mavity to Catherine, while she has an air conditioner hose shoved up her jumper :D

I've been delving into the Seventh Doctor years on iPlayer and honestly, what a fucking run :disco: Three quarters of the way through Remembrance of the Daleks and it really feels like a story they could do in the current show with very few changes.
 
I know that it was a bit of a fandom joke for a while that Sophie Aldred always brings up the baseball bat thing in interviews, but rewatching the scene it does actually go INSANELY HARD and I'd be really proud of it too:

Am I wrong to find Michael Gough as the Toymaker quite sexy? I first saw him as Alfred too :D
