Dolly Parton DEAD (2 Viewers)

I’ve long been fascinated by this maudlin ditty about a little girl and her puppy who turn up at Dolly’s mansion one day and both inexplicably DIE IN THE NIGHT.

Somehow she manages to carry it off with a camp wink though. Her power.

A much bigger death than I'd realised.

BBC News At Ten gave half the show to her and she's getting the most the rest of the night dedicated to her. She's all over social media. And she really is getting massive massive names paying tribute.

Why the BBC HAD to bring Joanne Rowling into it I have no idea.

"To her gay and trans fans, I want you to know that she loved you. You know that without me telling you. She loved all her fans and they are legion. And you know she doesn’t want y’all to mourn now. Dress up and celebrate her spirit. But first, watch the final episode of Grace and Frankie where she’s an Angel, the head honcho working class angel in Heaven."

I wonder why “9 to 5” only peaked at #47 when it was first released.

She (currently) only has two UK top 40 hits, “Jolene” and “Islands In The Stream” (both #7).

I don't think I've seen social media / media generally this flooded with tributes since Whitney. I guess Prince and David Bowie were the last big legends to go, but they felt revered and respected rather than just plain beloved.
