Apparently the title track isn't a "single" and it will have a lyric video rather than a proper video. (source - DL herself on Instagram).
 
I'm ready to shell out the big £££ on the vinyl editions of this new album. I expect the Queen of Pop will treat us to multiple formats and box sets etc.
 
I think Future Nostalgia is a lot less immediate (which makes sense if it’s not a ‘single’ proper) but I have a feeling it might grow more than Don’t Start Now.
Either way, both add up to a very strong opening to the album campaign.

this one sounds like a mix between a George Michael and a Little Boots track.
 
Triumph is bang on. She looks as free and comfortable performing as I have seen her. Love her taking a quick spin on top of the piano and the glorious glitter drop.

Hmmm. Still, I guess it fits the "future nostalgia" thing. Mind you, she wasn't even a sperm in her unusually-hot father's bawsack when that song was a hit.
 
i noticed a headline about her being a "wutang stan" when she was a kid. not sure why i find it rather fictional.

i like the live performance though i still maintain she is one of the most awkward pop stars out there. i thought the second song was rubbish too.
 
and she is becoming absolutely gorgeous if that merits discussion.
 
If you insist! Produced by Koz (he did Hotter Than Hell, IDGAF, a lot of the debut), written by Dua, Sarah Hudson (Dua's Genesis, Swish Swish, Dark Horse) and Clarence Coffee Jr (no idea).
 
despite some minor qualms with it, don't start now has been my favourite, or at least one of my very favourite, song(s) of the last couple of months. i thoroughly love it - the old-timey feel, the i will survive nod, that stupid production number with scrambled vocal they do in mainstream pop these days... they're all great. but it just has such a fucking terrific melody. super simple, super timeless.

and then i realise she did so much (great) promo for it and it's still under 100 million views on youtube. wtf? is it huge on streaming? did it do well on the charts? why are it's views so low? don't the kids love dua lipa (my grimes-not-knowing niece doesn't care for her much ugh)?

anyway. we played this song at midnight on new year's. i was living.
 
yes it's huge on streaming. It will get a new Hot 100 peak tomorrow (top 25 somewhere) and is on track for top 15 the following week. none of the pop girls seem to do big YouTube numbers anymore unless you're Ariana.
 
I still think it has underperformed, based on nothing more than my firm belief that it should have been #1 everywhere ever since the moment it was released.

Obviously her label wanted a number one but the above is nothing to be sniffed at by anyones standards.

She´s doing just fine. :)
 
Physical is coming in 2 weeks, Jan 24th.

It went Gold(400K) last week, if I remember from what I saw on Twitter.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Dua, but having had a quick nosey at her forthcoming tour dates I can’t help but think two nights at the 02 may have been a LITTLE ambitious looking at current sales (spoiler: it doesn’t look like there have been MANY) :shy:

Drop the prices Dua and pack the place out :disco:
 
Interesting, I would have thought a tour would have sold pretty well - she's had enough proper hits surely. How odd.

lovely "disco orchestral" mix with added rollerskating dancers, chairs on wheels and ponytail swishes. this is great - I love the way she performs this song everytime as if it's the encore of a show at Madison Square Garden or Wembley, even when she's just in a dingy room with 15 other people. The joy is palpable.

The way she turns up fashionably late to her own performance, the tip tap of her heels as she casually circles them all and that glorious arrangement. Just TOO GOOD. All the :disco:s.
 
Now THAT is how you make something for the GAYZ :disco:

The instrumental to this song is killer. And her monotone vocals really put a modern spin on traditional disco. It's not too campy, but just enough!
 
But what I wanna know is just how responsible she is for her writing/direction/production/visuals.

Also, who was that "live" for? Or was it just more promo for the song?

They need to release that, to stop the ACR kicking in. And then perform it at The Brits.

10,000 times better than the ACTUAL video :disco:

Everything about this campaign so far has been FLAWLESS, right up to soft-launching with BUZZ TRANSITION SINGLE Electricity.

That Don't Stop Now hasn't (yet) been a UK number 1 single is an absolute hate crime.
 
It really is an ongoing triumph of pop music. joyful to witness!
