Has anyone watched this yet? I might start it this weekend. The reviews seem...mixed. But i wanna watch it for the beautiful gowns. Plz no major spoilers!

Without spoilers, where does it fit into the mythology?

Is it canon with the movies?

I thought the first episode was okay, it feels a bit DOMESTIC and less grand/mysterious than the films.

I quite enjoyed it, thought the second episode was better than the first. They are obviously going for Game of Thrones style power struggles but I like all that, and Emily Watson is great.

Watched the first two episodes and I'm quite enjoying it. The politics are interesting, but if there isn't some good old-fashioned ass kicking soon they can't hope for this to be their next GoT.

Regardless, the acting is great and the gowns are beautiful.

This show is officially serving. Episode 4 was full of drama and lewks.

The scene with the charcoal was EXCELLENT.

The season finale was excellent. Both intriguing and fun. The Tula/Desmond arc was really well directed. And Emily Watson is really the jewel in the crown.

I also love how unintentionally camp the Voice power is. I SWEAR all I can hear is Jasmine Masters.

Yes I loved the finale. Some of the hot sci fi chat goes right over my head but I appreciate all the drama.

I was getting later Vikings levels of unbearable from Travis Fimmel mid season but his scene with Olivia Williams was excellent.

FINALLY watching this. Really good so far. I did of course have to watch the second movie AGAIN because I really struggle with Dune lore, and it helped.

It's a really good series. For a sci-fi season that's only SIX episodes, it does a pretty effective job of world-building and character development.

Season 2 isn't out until late 2026

Just watched episode 3 and I’m torn - I was a little confused that a big show would be so bold as to spend (almost) an entire episode on backstory when the show only has 6 episodes total. But in the end it worked - the twists along the journey of the mother-sisters was quite shocking and jarring and it really helped raise the stakes of what is happening in the present day of the show.

I can’t get over how much young Valya looks like she really could be a young Emily Watson. And the Tula choices too. Great casting all round.
