I only have vague memories of this from my childhood, but they were all very fond ones! A while ago I listened to an episode of the podcast Gayest Episode Ever (which is usually about gay-themed episodes of sitcoms but occasionally branches out into other stuff) about an episode of this show that was (accidentally?) extremely queer coded:

A really great cartoon best summarised as having a lot of layers to it. I genuinely find the Dungeon Master’s philosophical thought of the week touching, and it’s a great cast namely thanks to Eric, Diana and Uni.

Sidenote: on one of my first dates with my husband he said to me that I remind him of Eric from the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. I didn’t get it at the time, but having now seen it…yes, fair enough

There’s an underlying tragedy about the whole series that makes it even more compelling - that they weren’t allowed or able to make the final episode to get them home means our heroes are forever trapped in this world. I read that the final episode script leaked and I wish to God someone would do the right thing and just animate so they can get the ending they deserve.

I was just talking about this at work yesterday (this is what your tax £££ funds). It kind of pissed me off because they had a few opportunities to get back - I think there was one where the only reason they stayed is that they couldn't leave the shit unicorn. I always felt like they made a rod for their own backs.
