Eastenders 2022

FFS! And I’m sober! Imagine how much shit I used to spout when I was on drugs and convinced I was right :DAF:

It was a bit strange how Vi disappeared like she did, it seemed quite sudden and like it was possibly hastily written to cover an absence for real life reasons. The actress is Gwen Taylor which might be where @Nancy's confusion came from?

There was a now-deleted tweet from Ricky Champ (Stuart) the other day which seemed to imply his time on the show might be coming to an end :o

It was the first appearance of the new Arthur Fowler last night as he got clobbered by Jean on the bouncy castle.

The old Arthur Fowler made a post on Instagram that made it appear as if he’d been a central character for the last six years!

I love Mick and Janine together. It's a shame Danny Dyer is leaving later this year as I think they could really work long term.

This Jean/Stacey stuff is quite juicy, I'm enjoying it quite a lot. Jada however remains CHRONIC but Will is quite good as a teenage cringelord.

How long has Jean been going off the rails for? It seems like it has been more subdued than her usual manic episodes?

She's been a bit 'off' for a little while (stealing the wages from Kat and letting Tommy take the blame without any remorse being the biggest example), but yesterday with the bouncy castle was her being properly manic in a way people would notice for the first time I think.

She has been quite full on with Harvey too which I am not sure if that is to do with her having an episode too, or if she would do that normally? If that is part of her current state of mind it has been ongoing for some time. He doesn’t seem to have noticed though.

What’s going on with moonface racist boy guilt-tripping Harvey from prison? Are we stuck with this character beyond that story?

I've been enjoying the Jean and Stacey story as well, and there's been a lot of very subtle build-up to it, which I've appreciated.

This is returning to 4 full-length episodes from next month when Holby City ends.

There are some reports that Jean and Harvey are going to get married on a whim and Jean may drown in the sea when they’re away. I don’t believe the latter as the tabloids always assume.

Roly returns!

There have been so many stupid underwhelming exits lately. I wonder if it was the actor’s decision to go, because that was so crap. Isaac had so much more potential as a character. They also keep giving Patrick more extended family and then just making them leave so all he has left is the connection to Denise and Kim.

Has Sharon lost weight, or has she just got a new weave and wardrobe with a bit of colour in it?

Also can I just say BY GOD THIS HAS BEEN GOOD this week. I can’t help thinking I would have acted very similarly to Linda in that situation.

What exactly is Janine’s game? Is it that she genuinely likes Mick but knows no other way than to manipulate people? Or does she just need a place to stay to be close to Scarlett, or just a bit of both?

I reckon it started as the latter and has become the former. She's definitely going to fuck everything up even more though, I can feel it.

They really do work as a couple, against my better judgement I'm rooting for them :D Also Linda and Jean causing chaos, Sharon strutting around looking snatched... what a great week so far.

I would love a year or two of Mick and Janine together before it all inevitably went to shit. But as Danny Dyer is leaving in a few months, I hope they do the right thing and make Janine landlady of the Queen Vic.

Five or ten years ago, it wouldn’t have worked. But now, as a 40 year old aware of her faults and dark streaks yet still can’t help herself, she’ll be perfect!

It will work so much better for the character of Janine than another uninspired car lot scam.

Linda is a FANTASTIC character and Kellie Bright is a great actress. I hope when Mick goes they continue to give her decent material, even if it doesn’t involve The Vic. When her and Mick gave up The Vic previously it really didn’t work.

I'm always surprised by Sean sounding a bit POSH whenever he pops up from time to time :D

Has that old woman ever had a storyline that didn't involve her having a manic episode? At any point over the past decade when I've caught a stray five minutes of this, she seems to pop up having a bit of a wobbler.

"That old woman" :D Poor Jean! She has bipolar so a lot of her storylines have been about that, but she had a lovely one a few years ago about her having cancer and having a doomed romance with Ade Edmondson who played a (terminal) fellow patient.
