Excellent episode tonight. Just shows there's no need for high drama when there's knowledge and love of the characters. And importantly no Nish in sight...

Reminded me of the run of episodes we had last December when they focused on each one of The Six in turn, so hopefully we get more of the same in the run-up to Christmas.
 
I know all about addiction Ag, as you know. But this is a soap and it's different. If Mick is not coming back then they need to reinvent her. They did try it with the Knights but Elaine is a waste of time when it comes to helping her. She shows no proper love towards Linda
 
Have they ever said what Nish is actually dying of? He seems to just have some kind of weak heart, and he constantly speaks like someone faking an illness on the phone to work.

Kellie Bright and Steve McFadden are great on screen together. Jacqueline Jossa less so, but i have nothing against.

Although her and Peter together are super dull.

Speaking of Nish outstaying his welcome, and revisiting this summing up of the Halloween episode, it now didn't work either as a conclusion to The Six's story, or Nish's character arc.
 
I missed Wednesday and caught up the last 2 addiction special episodes together yesterday. They were very well done, particularly Linda.

I rewatched the Stacey and Max reveal now that all the Christmas specials are on iPlayer. I had zero memory of that episode ending with Max accidentally shoving Tanya down a flight of stairs. :D

That bit’s been pretty airbrushed from history!

Hmm that was a bit of a weird one. I like it when they have episodes that are outside the box but I’m not sure they really did the idea justice. Possibly hampered by only having half an hour but also by some dodgy dodgy acting from the Carter kids.
 
I was confused about it and I guess I wanted to love it. I mean I understood the plot, but I found the time jump jarring as that's just not soap opera (not like this anyway). Even if it was just the playing out of a mental revelation, the script wasn't messy, but maybe that was the point. The busy square, but empty church... eh?

It was nice to see the Carter kids together, but they didn't shine.
 
That being said, it's often how addicts get to the moment of seeking help. These moments are often the moment they recall the most. And of course, I do keep saying it, but Kellie Bright is wonderful.

Shame it didn't quite work.
 
iPlayer now two episodes ahead due to SPOTY, but those two episodes have definitely helped me buy into the Cindy stuff. They're doing a good job of raising the stakes and I guess it helps that Cindy is at the heart of it.

Also it's probably the only storyline that's been adequately paced throughout the year, and gradually built up from a C-story to the main event. Unlike the interminable Nish saga and the Reiss stuff that gets forgotten about for weeks on end.
 
I do think they need to remind the audience that this isn't Peter's baby. I'm actually struggling to remember who Lauren bonked?
 
Yeah, she’s only about 16 weeks. Zach was way before that and I’m pretty certain it’s Peter’s. She’s not been conflicted about telling him.
