Honestly the more I think about it, that’s one of the best EastEnders episodes they’ve done. Up there with Ethel’s final episode. Lexi was also so lovely when talking to Clare about losing her mum at the same age.

The Nigel plot has really been the ONLY saving grace of EE for the past year now.

Wonderful performances from Paul Bradley throughout. Continuing Phil down new untrodden paths, when otherwise a character of his tenure and age could otherwise easily have just become a tired shadow of themselves. For a character who was originally just a footnote, Julie has also been fab although I'm less hopeful of her staying long-term, especially with how fragile her alliance with Phil has often been.

They found a nice middle ground as well of neither reinventing Clare as an angel, but nor doubling down on Hollyoaks Claire 2.0.

I really want Max to turn out to be the head of the drug gangs. It would explain why he seems to have unlimited cash. And Jack finding out he was looking for his own brother would just be be funny.
