Edinburgh tips and info

I'm definitely doing Edinburgh this year

I haven't been since I was little and don't remember it. I will want to do the main tourist traps but I'd also like to see a bit of proper Edinburgh if people have any suggestions...

I'll probably take the Avanti train from Preston. I fancied trying out a sleeper train as an experience but no point from that far north. Maybe if I ever do the highlands...

I’ve decided to head to Edinburgh this weekend, I’ve found myself at a loose end with everyone doing something else and I’m not staying home in this weather.

Does anyone have any tips for a novice? I’ll be staying right by the station.

The old royal yacht Britannia was great & worth a visit for sure, especially if you like maritime history.

Arthur's Seat is a good walk.

Calton hill is the easier one.

We used to go to EGO which was right opposite CCs as well but I doubt that's still going
