I rewatched Shirley Valentine last week, randomly enough.

It’s very stagey and not all of it’s aged well, but Pauline Collins is so good in it, and of course it’s very quotable.

Bernard Hill was a hot daddy type - I'd have stayed at home like a good wifey and he'd get stake, never egg and chips, although I'd be happy with his eggs and sausage.
