Some of her best work, and the songs I always point to instead of the more obvious commercial hits like Love Me Like You Do and Falling For You.

In fact, Halcyon is near-flawless. I remember during the pandemic, lovely Jark hosted a listening party that made me rediscover just how incredible that album is from start to finish. I also remember going on a full-blown scavenger hunt trying to track down all the bonus tracks, regional exclusives, and random extras scattered across different releases.

I'm glad Ellie finally acknowledged the album's anniversary with Halcyon Nights, a supposedly "comprehensive" 31-track edition. And yet, somehow, High for This is still missing

Halcyon is utterly perfect in every way really. a masterpiece (including the myriad deluxe tracks). she's never found such an effortless sound again.
